Gonçalo Amaral on CdM: "Enough with the lies"

Article translated by Joana Morais.

"Enough with the lies": Gonçalo Amaral calls into question the statement of a McCann friend and believes that the solution to the Maddie case "may be in there"

Former inspector points out flaws in the German police investigation and defends Judiciary Police

The former inspector of the Judiciary Police (PJ), Gonçalo Amaral, said this Saturday during an interview with CMTV, that "nothing has been proven" so far in the case of the disappearance of Maddie from Praia da Luz, in May 2007, and believes that "Portugal is in a position to crack the Maddie case".

Gonçalo Amaral recalled that an investigation is confined to facts and, based on them, conclusions are advanced or not. According to the former PJ, in the September 2007 interim report on the case of the disappearance of the English child, the hypothesis was that a corpse was concealed. However, Gonçalo Amaral reminds that there was no accusation, in an allusion to the most recent investigations by the German and English police.

At a time when the German police have new leads on the case, Gonçalo Amaral said that, so far, "nothing has been proven".

German investigation and reconstruction of the image of the German suspect

In an analysis of the already published picture of the German suspect Christian Brueckner, the former inspector has no doubts: "it cannot be [him]". Gonçalo Amaral explained that in question is the fact that the German had short hair at the time of Maddie's disappearance however the testimonies spoke of a long hair. "Do they want people to be identified? So let's be serious", said the inspector, who criticizes the release of a current photograph of the suspect instead of a picture [of how he looked].

Amaral is convinced that the German prosecutor did not read the process concerning the English girl's case. "When the German prosecutor says the man came in through the window, forget it, he didn't read the files",  he said.

The former PJ stressed that German police officers "are not incompetent, they are rigorous", but questions whether the new German suspect is a tactic for the authorities to resolve the case in a "competent" way.

As for the English authorities, Amaral believes that they too "are looking for paedophiles who fit in the abduction theory, without however proving that there has been an abduction".

The cadaver dogs, brought by the British authorities, detected blood in the house, but that evidence was eventually depreciated. "The English laboratory wrecked the results", said Gonçalo Amaral, who reproaches the laboratory technician of expressing opinions about the results.

The former inspector appealed to investigators on the case to read the process from start to finish or otherwise face an investigation failure. "There are things that are lacking in the process", he recalled, appealing for the continuation of the investigation.

Amaral stressed again that, currently, Christian Brueckner "is an almost perfect suspect, [to be one] he just needs to be dead".

Maddie's medical history could be essential for investigation

Gonçalo Amaral recalled that Madeleine McCann's medical history was not made available to the authorities, a document that could be essential for the investigation.

"We have to understand who the victim is. The Portuguese know everything about the girl. But there is at least one thing they don't know: the medical history. Neither the parents gave it, nor did the British authorities allowed us to access it", said the former PJ, who recalled the distinctive blemish the English girl had on her eye, an image widely used in publicizing the case.

The above mentioned document could, according to the former PJ, help to understand if the child could have heart problems due to the effects of the medication that was administered to her.

On the night of Maddie's disappearance, Kate had inclusively checked several times whether the twin brother and sister were breathing. "Why does a mother, a doctor, spend the night checking if her children can breathe? Surely there was a risk", points out Amaral, who accuses the mother of not disclosing all the details in the immediate moment following the beginning of the investigation.

"It's all a sham", concludes Gonçalo Amaral, recalling the family and friends statements about the alleged surveillance scheme of the children, while they dined at the Ocean Club restaurant.

"Parents should have been considered as suspects": Former inspector defends the reconstitution

The former inspector "has no doubt" that the presence of the [tracking] dogs, at the request of Kate and Gerry McCann, worked to contaminate the evidence inside the apartment. "You can't be altering evidence", he recollected.

Gonçalo Amaral once again defended the reconstruction of the case and reinforced the need for the McCann couple and friends to return to Portugal in order to detail the day of the girl's disappearance. "The parents should have been considered as suspects and treated as such", he added.

According to the former inspector, the Portuguese authorities did not, for example, have access to photographs of the dinner on the day of the disappearance.

Importance of cell phones and witnesses in the investigation

On the matter of the cell phones and the association of the cell phone numbers during the investigation at the time of the disappearance, Gonçalo Amaral has doubts about the origin of those numbers recently associated with the German suspect Christian Brueckner: "Is anyone sure that this phone belongs to this man?” he questioned, underlining that "small details like this, is what makes the evidence".

The former PJ believes that if the German police knew that the phone number belonged to Brueckner, "they wouldn't need to seek for more information."

Among the witnesses in the process are several friends of the McCann couple who were on holidays [with them] in Praia da Luz at the time of the disappearance.

"Enough with the lies", said Amaral, referring to the statement of the couple’s friend, Jane Tanner, who alleged that she saw a man carrying a child on the night of the child's disappearance. The inspector said that Tanner lied in her statement about the time, place and direction in which she saw the man and that she should, at the present time, make a "sworn statement". "The solution may be in that", alerted the former inspector.

Judiciary Police admitted to the abduction of the child after “British ambassador's request”

The former Judiciary Police (PJ) coordinator who investigated Maddie's disappearance, Gonçalo Amaral, revealed yesterday on CMTV that the PJ initially admitted the possibility of the abduction of the child following a request by the British ambassador. "The parents should have been treated as suspects from the start. But there were other pressures. It is not for nothing that the then British ambassador went to the site. The director of the Faro PJ [Guilhermino Encarnação] announced that she was abducted after speaking with the ambassador", revealed the former inspector, who considers that the German prosecutor who announced that Christian Brueckner is the main suspect in Maddie's abduction and death "has not yet read the process".

    Sigh.

The belief that telling a lie over and over again will make it become true.

Taking into account that this has been shown as an obvious circus, the interest goes to watch how brazen and shameless the so-called journalists can be.

    Another example of utter tosh!

If there were photos of Maddie, Brueckner would have been arrested immediately and the footage would have long been shown to the McCanns to identify her.

    1. Not that any of the intelligentsia would know a photo of Madeleine if it hit them in the face. People are far more savvy these days when it comes to identifying contrived imagery such as Photoshop. The German [cough] prosecutor was virtually laughing his head off in the last hokey film footage he appeared in.

And then like many of the other jokers he couldn't contain his breathing. If it looks like a scam, walks like a scam and talks like a scam it's deffo a SCAM in my humble opinion.

Another article riddled with errors 🤦🥱😴

Now he’s reported as murdering the elderly woman and that his phone was found near the apartment!

Journalist is not a word that applies to the writer of this nonsense.

We’ve been through all the phone calls recorded in PJ files, the only source that OG could have used.

We can’t find the number attributed to CB anywhere.

We have even looked at OC staff records. Although partially obscured, there was enough visible to eliminate staff numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  4. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/madeleine-mccann-suspect-just-yards-22280327

As we have already said, the only phone pings recorded in 2007 were done by the PJ and are contained in the files.

We’ve checked all phone numbers recorded in the files and the number attributed to Brueckner does not appear.

Gonçalo Amaral in his CMTV interview said that one just needed to be within 6 km of an antenna for it to ping.

We have dealt with this in 2014 in the post “Person of Interest”:
    https://textusa.blogspot.com/2014/05/person-of-interest.html

“If one recalls, SY started to say that it had 3,000+ records of cell phone calls on that night in Praia da Luz.

Then, out of these 3,000+ calls, it elected 3 numbers, of what was to become the very brief notoriety of the 3 Burglars, who, apparently were said to have been 3 Ocean Club workers if we’re not mistaken.

And then out came Euclides’ name. A former Ocean Club worker. Almost the logical conclusion of 3,000+ phone calls – 3 Burglars – 3 Ocean Club workers – 1 Ocean Club worker: Euclides Monteiro.

But Euclides stands out like a sore thumb in this logic: he’s the only one named from Portugal while all other come from Britain.

Portugal reopened case because of Euclides’ phone pings. Apparently that was the reason.

Apparently, again, he had used his cell phone near the Apartment 5A on that night.

All, including us, thought that to be ridiculous. With the actual GPS technology on smartphones, a cell phone can have, we suppose, its location pinpointed. However, the technology available then simply reported whatever retransmission antenna the cell phone activated.

If a cell phone activated more than one antenna than a triangulation was possible to be obtained but only if one was doing live tracking of the call. To do that, one has to know beforehand what number to track.

If the number wasn't tracked live, then the best that is able to be obtained is a general area by intersecting the ranges of all antennae the cell phone activated.

Antennae do not register the azimuths of calls and to do a trilateration one needs at least 3 azimuths.

To be able to know where Euclides had used his phone, he would have to have been a person of interest to the authorities that night. As far as we know, he wasn’t. Not that night.

All that could then be determined from phone pings as to where Euclides used his cell phone would be a general location around Praia da Luz. Or as SOL, 01Nov13, stated “according to the news, the Oporto PJ would have arrived to the former employee through the triangulation of cell phone signals which were activated in the night of May 3, 2007 in the area of the tourist resort, and they would have understood that the suspect was in the vicinity in the night when Maddie disappeared.”

He could have been next to Maddie when he used it or he could have been sitting comfortably in his living-room in his home, watching TV or writing poems.

Vicinity is vicinity and on RTP his widow stated clealy that he was in his house with her.

He could have been anywhere in the range of the antenna his cell phone activated, and like him, there were certainly hundreds of other “nobodies” within it too.”

Not sure who you meant when you said only Euclides was Portuguese.

    3. Anonymous 1 Jul 2020, 11:46:00,

What we meant by Euclides being the only Portuguese, we meant the only suspect brough up by the Portuguese.

There is also another common ground between Monteiro and Brueckner: they were both brought up outside the UK. Monteiro by Portugal, Brueckner by Germany.

Neither Monteiro or Brueckner pleases the Brits or the McCanns, although we believe they did the best to overcome the situation by doing the best to make a Barkas out of him: it wasn’t him but let’s let him take the whole blame as long as no demand for proof is required.

A difference between Monteiro and Brueckner is that the Portuguese don’t like the German.

Our comment was to highlight that “mobile pings” are the go to technical excuse used, when in plains terms, is almost meaningless.

We say almost because if someone who was not supposed to be in the area, GENERAL are, pinged there, then that would be meaningful.

To give an example by absurdity – to be clear we’re not implying that anything similar happened, just making a point – just imagine if a mobile phone connected to Gordon Brown pinged in the GENERAL area at that particular period. That would be extremely relevant.

Other than such a possibility, the pings are absolutely meaningless.

  5. I have always wanted Gonçalo Amaral to make a statement on video in Portuguese, English, German, French and Spanish, to make it clear to the general public that the Portuguese and English police have never cleared the McCanns in Madeleine's case and they are looking for no other suspects in the case.

Repeating his statement that the case would be easily solved if MI5 fully cooperated by revealing their own files, and would greatly assist people in understanding why English police have been forced to keep Operation Grange running at such immense cost.

  6. It's beyond satire when the scriptwriters and other fantasists insist on their continuation of telling and retelling of the official drivel.

Weaving in the staff members truthful spin is better than fiction, as they were all part of the missing production from a time before they went live with their win-win BS.

[Gerry DID NOT call Sky News, no need].

It was just them and their blagging entourage pretending it was all genuine and the insalubrious joint wasn't closed to the general public.

Because it was off-season in the Algarve in April for crying out loud. None of it was true, it was 'all' staged and Madeleine is not in Portugal, therefore nobody feels closer to her there.

For that is another physical impossibility.

Gerry's voice and Kate's shipwrecked demeanour tell you that. And it's as clear as the nose on your face that the whole truth is worth far more than anyone has seen thus far.

They could swallow the temporary medicine and the remainder is only limited by their own imaginations and willingness to think outside the box.

Whatever the deciders do though, some of us will not allow ANYONE to falsify Madeleine's value or her right to an honest legacy.

If we are suggesting Maddie was never in Portugal, we strongly disagree. She was in Portugal and died in Portugal.

It’s an issue we will not even discuss. You can always create a blog and defend your theory and subject it to public scrutiny. Here is not the place for that.

We also disagree strongly about the person you say did not exist. Another subject we will not even consider discussing and another one you can defend in whatever platform you wish to use to defend your theories.

Lastly, we found very distasteful this part of your unpublished comment which we censored for obvious reasons:

    4. Anonymous 2 Jul 2020, 16:06:00,

The blog FULLY agrees with you when you say that “I don't believe, even though the opinion is popular amongst many, that the McCanns dumped or disposed of Madeleine like a bag of old rubbish”.

A welcomed commentator in the Normalised Toilet blog supposedly even believes that Maddie was dumped and left in a rubbish bin, so making Maddie literally “a bag of old rubbish”. According to this disgusting and disrespectful thesis, the McCanns were extremely lucky because they hit the jackpot on the local garbage pick-up night, as they had no way of knowing that Thursday – IF it was on Thursdays – was the night the bins were emptied into trucks.

We have detailed what we believe happened on the night of May 3 to May 4 after Maddie died in the subheading “#3. Time & Dogma” in our post “Cadaverine”
      http://textusa.blogspot.com/2015/05/cadaverine.html

Two years later, we quoted that relevant passage in the subheading “#9 – The role of Euclides Monteiro” of our post “Oh no, NOT HIM!”
      http://textusa.blogspot.com/2017/03/oh-no-not-him.html

As you can see, we believe that in no moment in time that night was the body left unattended. We also believe that until the body was disposed of – we believe she was cremated sometime in early June – that Maddie’s body was treated with total and absolute respect (outside one singular circumstance NOT of the responsibility of the parents and we believe to have been done without their knowledge or consent and which we will not say more than this about it).

That means that we also agree with you when you say “I've always imagined her in lush, peaceful, surroundings and not all on her own and just abandoned. Those two are not monsters, they're just scared of people judging them 'badly' is my personal opinion.”

I just wanted to clarify my comment. I am perfectly clear that the search fund started after the disappearance of the girl (as you well say). Perhaps I made the mistake of deducing that since the T9 are a group without so much power and that those who really had the power to influence two governments (British and Portuguese) were able to offer the head of the T9 if necessary, I thought it logical that they control the McCanns from the money.
I understand that he cannot give a name because that would have legal consequences and I understand that his blog is followed by people who have been behind this cover-up and who pay close attention to his reasoning.

Wolters maintains Madeleine is dead and CB murdered her. He claims the evidence is "concrete" but would not divulge the nature of evidence.
Wolters admits the current concrete evidence is not enough to charge CB with Maddie's murder.
Wolters said he "does not know" if the concrete evidence has been shared with London Metropolitan Police or Policia Judiciåria.
Wolters could not explain why Met Police are working a missing person case and German police a homicide case.

The cellphone mast tower ping on night of May 3, 2007
Wolters said he could not confirm the location of the cellphone mast tower which allegedly pinged CB's phone at 19:32.
Wolters could not confirm the radius and distance covered by the mast tower in question, and if the coverage stretched to CB's home.
Wolters would not confirm with 100 per cent certainty CB was in Praia da Luz on the night Madeleine vanished]

Let’s pick a helpless criminal and let’s make him a monster.

Or, if one wants to believe that this man went on a vile criminal rampage for years – had he not “decided to make a phone call” and “make a sudden change of plans from burglary to abduction and murder” on May 3 2007, said rampage would continue to be unknown to this day – let’s pick a helpless monster and let’s make him a bigger monster.

And, because he’s a bad man – allegedly a very bad man – let’s pin on him a blame all know is not his to carry (let’s not burden good, “law-abiding” citizens who should) and watch passively or, as we have witnessed lately help pin that blame on him.

And since we are clearly into Inquisition territory (or witch hunting) here, we suggest that the following step be to torture him into confession. We are certain he will under those circumstances confess and then there you have it: he did it!

Prosecutors do not apply for a warrant
There is "currently no urgent suspicion".

Braunschweig - In the missing case of Madeleine McCann, the public prosecutor's office in Braunschweig sees no way of issuing an arrest warrant against the accused Christian B. There is "currently no urgent suspicion of crime," the first prosecutor told Spiegel.

According to the public prosecutor, there is also no time pressure during the investigations. "We assume that Christian B. will remain in custody at least until the beginning of 2021 for other crimes," it said.

The investigators had recently sought public witnesses again. Investigators suspect that the girl was kidnapped and killed in Portugal in 2007.

The accused is currently serving a sentence in Kiel for a drug offense. On July 16, the European Court of Justice will decide whether a further rape conviction should be brought into line with the International Legal Assistance Act. B. makes use of his right to remain silent."

“To find closure on this subject the general public has to have its thirst quenched in what pertains to the following:

      1. Why did the case take so long to solve?

      2. Under what circumstances (who, why, when, where and how) did Maddie die?

      3. If Maddie died in the apartment, why was body taken away from it?

      4. If Maddie died in apartment and body taken away, where was it taken to between 10pm – 4am and subsequently on the following hours and days?

      5. What happened to Maddie’s body and who and why helped for that to happen?

      6. Who protected the McCanns and why were they protected the way they were?

Six simple questions that have to be answered. Have to and not should be.”

  17. WARNING: We warn readers that we are going to make an exaggerated use of the emoji 😂 in this comment. Really abuse it. We hope that readers will understand that we had no choice.

    *****

From NotTextusa’s mouth (we have nothing against horses, so we won’t exercise any cruelty upon this species, even if only generically, by associating it in any way with the owner of the Normalised Toilet blog):

“If you were hoping for a detailed breakdown of all the guff in the papers over the last couple of months, then you are wasting your time; I can't be arsed.

Have they got the right culprit this time? Who knows. I certainly don't. All I know is that we have been here plenty of times before and I can't hear any fat lady singing, so we'll see.”

    *****

We remind readers that NotTextusa has been acclaimed by the gang, especially by Jules and BenT, as the most knowledgeable anti, the anti all antis should look to for inspiration, enlightenment and clarification – pity his review of Kate’s book lasted only 2 or 3 chapters, because of it, humanity remains ignorant about what Maddie’s mother wrote.

According to Jules and BenT (and others), there couldn’t be an anti more anti than the absolutely, totally anti NotTextusa.

Yet, 3 months and 3 days after the circus started (these words are dated July 6) the anti of antis still leaves the possibility that Brueckner could be the one whodunnit!

Was it Brueckner who abducted Maddie? “Who knows. I certainly don't”, replies NotTextusa!

Did Gonçalo Amaral come out to denounce the circus? Who cares, it’s possible it was Brueckner, says NotTextusa, the anti of antis according to Jules and BenT.

Has the reader noticed that we haven’t used a single 😂 after the opening word? That’s because however ridiculous are the words from him quoted above, what is pathetic is what he says afterwards:

    “Náo é uma salsicha”

We will overlook that there is no such a thing as a “náo” in Portuguese. It’s “não”.

As it’s one of the two most basic words of any language (them being yes and no) this blunder, which we will overlook, would be the same as asking NotTextusa “is this pathetic circus Brueckner being set up as a patsy?” and listen to him reply in his fluent English: “Ni, it’s possible it was him.”

As we said, we will overlook this mistake and understand that what he meant to write was “Não é uma salsicha”.

Which translates to: “It’s not a sausage”.

We don’t know what we have ever stated that it was a sausage but NotTextusa is adamant about it: “It’s not a sausage!”

    1. So readers fully understand the context of the “sausage” (if not a sausage, then what is it??), NotTextusa who is certainly privy to what the 3 open investigations had investigated, says this:

“2. Nowhere, in the extensive analysis by the combined police forces of at least three nations, is there any reference whatsoever to a crucial aspect.

      Swinging.

Nowhere. Nada. Not a fucking sausage. Keine wurst. Náo é uma salsicha"

    3. Anonymous 8 Jul 2020, 11:08:00,

Could you please clarify what do you mean by “Polish TV”? Asking for NotTextusa (and bipolar Scamhunter – switches back and forth from being fluent in English to making infantile linguistic mistakes – and Jules, the liar):

“As regards this comment, which appears to have dripped from the decomposing pen of noted idiot Whimpering:

Let me get this straight? The MSM and Internet + Polish TV have been full of the case these last few months, but NT 'couldn't be arsed'... ? 'not a sausage'... Is this person really as disgusting as we all think it is?

      A few minor points:

Not sure what Polish TV has to do with anything. I have never been to Poland. Nor do I read tabloid trash.
I made no mention or use of the words 'sinister' or 'creepy'. Perhaps Whimpering is projecting?
I stated that there was no mention of swinging as this is the case. No police force has presented this thesis at any stage.”

      *****

Interesting to note that NotTextusa says he doesn’t read “tabloid trash” taking into account that the vast majority of articles over the years on the case have been published in tabloids. We are reminded of Walker saying he doesn’t read hate blogs…

But even NotTextusa has missed the tabloids, this German suspect has been mentioned in all “serious” media. For example, we have recently published a link to a Sky News article by Martin Brunt.

Martin Brunt is someone who NotTextusa trusts TOTALLY in regards with the BRT, as he believes that the table Brunt is the BRT is indeed the BRT:
      http://textusa.blogspot.com/2012/11/swan-lake-act-3.html

Saying “I stated that there was no mention of swinging as this is the case. No police force has presented this thesis at any stage.” Is very different to saying there’s not a sausage of swinging in any investigation, which was what NotTextusa said.

Basically, not knowing what ingredients are being cooked in a stew, NotTextusa has declared with absolute certainty that said stew doesn’t have any… sausages.

By the way, we would lave to know what thesis has ANY of the police presented to date. Not even Gonçalo Amaral has presented one. He has said that – quoting the PJ – the parents helped conceal the body but hasn’t explained under what scenario.

Likewise the German police have said that they believe Maddie is dead but haven’t detailed any scenario.

So from where does the anti of all antis know what thesis is being defended by each police?

Very noble of you for coming in defense of NotTextusa, the literary genius acclaimed by Jules and BenT

Thank you for the clarification of what the 3rd sentence of “Nowhere. Nada. Not a fucking sausage. Keine wurst. Náo é uma salsicha”, means.

Without you we would have remained in the pit of ignorance. We would have understood “not a sausage” of what he had said. Our sincere gratefulness!

By the way, we hope we are not wrong in assuming that the introduction of the word “f*cking” in the middle of it doesn’t alter the meaning. If it does, we are counting on your altruism to enlighten us again. TYA.

Seeing that you are so willing to help, could you please now explain what sausage is NotTextusa referring to in the 5th sentence, “Náo é uma salsicha”? What is not a sausage?

Is NotTextusa calling the St Phunurius property as a huge sausage? Because it is in the files that it hosted sex parties there, or so said the locals:
      http://textusa.blogspot.com/2016/03/maddie-swinging.html

“in conversation with various locals [populares] residing in the same area it was possible to determine that is it is a Quinta property of English citizens and that would have management by an individual of American nationality with residence in (…), having the locals [populares] further referred that the Quinta is used for “PARTIES” of sexual nature.”

Or is NotTextusa saying that the mention of “swing” or “swinging” would be a sausage?

If that is the case, then NotTextusa has “missed” the many, many, many times the words appear in the files:
      http://textusa.blogspot.com/2014/04/why-swing.html

Now, that’s a lot of sausages right there!

    3. It is very interesting that NotTextusa says he KNOWS that there is no mention of swinging in any of the 3 open investigations (PJ, Grange and BKA) but can’t be arsed about what has been said about Brueckner:

“If you were hoping for a detailed breakdown of all the guff in the papers over the last couple of months, then you are wasting your time; I can't be arsed.”

And it’s all… guff. That’s what he says (sorry, not buying the Bridget crap).

Also, alleges to know in detail what the 3 processes contain but to the question on whether it was Brueckner, he says “Who knows. I certainly don't.”

      Yeah, right… 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦

  19. Continuing with NotTextusa’s #Sausagegate, where he has stated – without revealing where he got the information from – that none of the 3 investigations regarding Maddie (PJ, SY and BKA) mention swinging.

We have shown what a liar he is regarding the only documentation that is public at this moment, the PJ Files. Lot’s of sausages there, and in particular a very big one, St Phunurius.

One point that our critics have tried to push is that there is absolutely no link that can be made between the case and swinging and whoever does that is an absolute and utter moron.

Guess who then are absolute and utter morons? The Facebook groups “Justice For Madeleine” and “You’re STILL falling for the McCann scam? You’re an idiot”. This was published on June 30:

The Mirror article linked has the headline: “UK swingers' sex festival cancelled over impact of social distancing on orgies”

Why would a group clearly and exclusively dedicated put to the Maddie case put up a post with an article that has as its only topic swinging?

Clearly someone in these groups (they are basically one and the same) thought that there is a connection to be made!

What is interesting about this, is that Justice For Madeleine (JFM) has been a very prominent FB group promoting NotTextusa (the anti who now says it’s possible that it was Brueckner who abducted and killed Maddie).

NotTextusa was an admin there at one point in time.

This group, had (or has) 2 admin with fake gender profiles. We mention this, because this “dishonesty” seemed to bother extremely NotTextusa, BenT and Jules, all admins of JFM at a point in time.

That fake-gendering – even during the time they were obsessed with the phenomenon – did not bother them. Nor that these 2 individuals promoted (or are promoting) their profiles as real people, unlike “Maria Santos” who is a clearly assumed fictional persona. For NotTextusa (a person hiding behind anonymity), BenT and Jules, the fact that these 2 admins lied (or are lying) about who they are to readers of the case, is something acceptable (which it is, by the way, we are just pointing the shameless hypocrisy).

This group now links swinging and the Maddie case. Interesting, isn’t it?

Upfront: The blog FULLY agrees with Babs1.

Why isn’t Jules correcting her friend? Why isn’t she calling Babs1 names? Why isn’t Jules demeaning Babs1 for not understanding anything about the EVRD?

According to Jules it’s possible that the alert in the rented car had nothing to do with death so it’s not, according to Jules that is, a FACT.

Also, again according to Jules, this is absolutely incorrect: “Let not forget that cadaver dog Eddie with a 100% track record alerted to cadaver odour”. It should be, according to Jules, “Let not forget that CADAVER & BLOOD DOG EDDIE with a 100% track record alerted to CADAVER & BLOOD ODOURS”.

Honestly, we just can’t understand how Jules allows a friend to be so wrong in public like this. According to Jules, that is. We agree with Babs1.

    VILA DO BISPO
SEARCHES IN THREE WELLS TO LOOK FOR MADDIE
The Judiciary Police (PJ) searched Madeleine McCann's body in three wells located in the rural areas of the municipality of Vila do Bispo. The searches, which the CM has found out, were carried out in in the last weeks and are part of a list of diligences carried out by the Portuguese police, after the German Christian Brueckner became the main suspect in the disappearance of the English child, in Praia da Luz, in Lagos, in 2007. The CM knows that the searches in the wells were carried out with the support of a team of firefighters specialized in search and rescue, which included divers. According to what the CM found out, the PJ investigators found no trace of Maddie. Other diligences have already been taken, namely the questioning of witnesses, in conjunction with the German police BKA and the English Metropolitan Police, which share information to carry out investigative and expert acts, in Portugal and abroad. The CM knows that elements have been collected that indicate the possible intervention of the German suspect in the disappearance of the English child.

    2. We will know that Christian Brueckner did not abduct and kill Maddie.

We said, and maintain the same about Euclides Monteiro.

However, we did speculate that Euclides Monteiro was involved in the concealment of the body:
      http://textusa.blogspot.com/2014/05/person-of-interest.html

Vila do Bispo is an area that covers Burgau, which is an area Murat has links to.

Murat was selling cars in Germany 2005-2006 - in PJ files. Michaela W ran a shop selling German food 2002- 2005

Was CB is some way linked to CB?

Then, like with Monteiro, Brueckner was connected to the case via a phone-call, which authorities claimed put them near 5A, even though that is an absurd claim to make.

There’s also the mysterious Diogo Silva, who appeared and disappeared in this circus. Remember him?

Is it possible that the horrible job Brueckner told his girlfriend he was about to carry out was to help with the body?

Could the area of Vila do Bispo be a message with Brueckner as was in our opinion the water treatment station with Monteiro?

All speculation on our part, and our 4 readers know how crazy our thoughts are. But then again, “The CM knows that elements have been collected that indicate the possible intervention of the German suspect in the disappearance of the English child.”

And no, before we get accused of even implying that we are considering the possibility of Brueckner being the culprit, let us make it very we are simply considering the POSSIBILITY of him being – in the worst case scenario for him – an accomplice in the concealment of the body and a minor one at that. Even if he is an accomplice, we obviously believe that he had nothing to do with her death.

  24. https://news.sky.com/story/amp/madeleine-mccann-teams-examine-three-wells-in-portugal-for-evidence-in-her-disappearance-12026431

“The wells are close to each other beside a narrow road that leads to Boca do Rio beach near the town of Budens which is a half-hour drive from Praia da Luz, the resort where three-year-old Madeleine vanished in 2007.”

    and

“A photograph of his VW camper van used in recent police appeals is thought to have been taken on the beach.”

Now, a month and 8 days after the appeal was first launched, revealing the location where the camper was ALLEGEDLY photographed. Shouldn’t that have been released on June 3, or when first we saw the pictures of the vehicle?

We remind readers that the photos of the van used in the appeal did not have the minion-like cartoons on it as shown by Gonçalo Amaral it had when it was used by Brueckner.

“It is believed the beach, a kilometre from the wells, was well-known to Christian B, the German drifter who is now the main suspect in Madeleine's disappearance.”

    Really? Drifter or resident?

Because if resident – as we have been told he was for many years – then why is this relevant? Of course he would know this beach well, like all the residents in the area. What will be the next big revelation, that he knew well the beach of Praia da Luz?

“German and British police involved in the search for Madeleine have received nearly 2,000 bits of information since launching appeals for public help five weeks ago.
A source said: "There are lots of leads being followed up, most of which will be of no use.
"But a search of a well is a complicated business and that suggests the police were working on good, credible information."”

Nothing was found, yet Brunt writes as if it’s expected for something to be found still…

PJ searches in an area with more than 20 wells

DILIGENCE - Firefighters dove into three abandoned water mills looking for Maddie's body
INFORMATION – Locations are close to beaches where German suspect parked the motorhomes

    Rui Pando Gomes

The rural area where searches were made by the Judiciary Police (PJ) to try to find the body of Madeleine McCann, in Vila do Bispo, has more than 20 wells and water mills. On Thursday, the PJ investigators, with the support of GNR and firefighters, focused their attention on three abandoned water mills along a road that gives access to the Boca do Rio and Barranco beaches, precisely the places where the now main suspect of the kidnapping of the English child used to park the motorhomes in which he slept.

According to what the CM found, the PJ investigators are crossing information received by the German BKA police and the British Metropolitan Police to find Maddie's body. The three water mills where the PJ searched for Maddie's body were about 15 meters deep and were full of litter and vegetation. The water wells are located about a kilometre from a beach that was frequented by Christian Bruckner, the now main suspect in the child's abduction.

Mário Lucas was surprised by the apparatus he found Thursday next to the land where he plants beans, in the Budens area. “They were GNR and fire engine vehicles and I thought it was strange. They had equipment set up to enter the water mills and I saw a man with a diving suit in one of them”, the farmer recollected to CM, who says that the road is “used a lot by motorhomes”.

The searches had the participation of specialized operationals in rescue with ropes and elements of the Brigade of Aquatic Rescue and Diving of the Portimão Firefighters. The CM knows that, despite all efforts, no vestiges of Maddie were found. The PJ searches are part of a list of diligences carried out in recent weeks and which also include the questioning of several witnesses.

We can’t find any listing of his case on the ECJ site.

Nor is it listed as an adjudicated case. If anyone else can find it listed please can you inform us.

His appeal was submitted in May and would normally take 6 months to be heard, but was reportedly expedited for a hearing this week, before the court breaks for summer recess.

“He is challenging the conviction because German police extradited him from Portugal for a separate drugs conviction, but then put him on trial for rape.

His lawyers are arguing that this was illegal.

The ruling is set to be made on July 16 in a hearing that has been fast-tracked because of the unusual circumstances of the case.

There are three potential outcomes of any ECJ ruling.

The first is that the Portuguese could give retrospective permission for the extradition on the rape charge, so that the conviction stands and Brueckner stays inside for his seven years sentence.

The second is that the ECJ could order a retrial of the rape.

The third possibility is that the judge could rule there should not have been a trial, the conviction is overturned, Brueckner is released and he cannot be rearrested.

He could then potentially leave and go to a country that does not have an extradition agreement with Germany.

However, Mr Wolters stressed this was a worst-case scenario and that he did not expect it to happen.”

    Interesting passage:

“In Portugal, friends of Madeleine’s parents Gerry and Kate McCann accused German police of “playing games” with the heartbroken couple by failing to reveal what evidence they have that she is no longer alive.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolter confirmed he had written to the couple saying that Madeleine is dead – but without revealing how this was known. The McCanns said they had not yet received the letter.

But a source close to them said the time had come for prosecutors to tell them what they know. The source added: “It’s like Hans Christian Wolter is playing funny games with the McCanns, without being funny. Those close to the McCanns are getting really mad with the German approach.

“If this German prosecutor is insistent in his belief that Madeleine is dead, it’s time her parents were told what the evidence is.”

Kate and Gerry, from Rothley, Leics, have remained silent on the row between police forces involved in the investigation.

But it is very unusual for a close associate of the couple to criticise investigators in this way – and highlights the frustration they feel as answers have yet to be found 13 years after their daughter vanished.”

PJ police search three wells in Vila do Bispo as new ‘revelations’ continue to focus on jailed pedophile

    By Natasha Donn
    12th July 2020

The weekend began with major news outlets focusing on new police searches down three remote wells for the body of Madeleine McCann.

Over 13 years since the little girl went missing from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, focus keeps ramping up on jailed pedophile/ drug trafficker/ sex attacker and convicted thief Christian Brückner.

The latest searches in wells near beaches around Vila do Bispo that the now 43-year-old is said to have frequented close to the time that Madeleine went missing, appear not to have revealed any human remains.

However different sources are asserting different ‘truths’.

For example, British online The World News, claims “Portuguese police say they now have “fundamental evidence” Madeleine McCann is dead”.

Portuguese state broadcaster RTP is cited as the source – but news outlets here are nothing like as ‘categoric’.

Indeed, it’s difficult to see where The World News gets its information – certainly not from RTP – though the channel’s Sexta às 9 investigative programme admits its own reporters have “found new leads that make it more plausible that Christian Brückner was the author of this crime”.

Again, this is said with reference to alleged sex ‘crimes’ – none of which have involved children of Madeleine’s age.

In every case, the incidents cited by Sexta às 9 have been with young adolescents.

Nonetheless, the overall picture is of Portuguese and German ‘BKA’ detectives working in some form of collaboration, with the latter every bit as convinced that Brückner is their man as they were when they first ‘broke’ the news of their interest in him (click here).

Even so, there are a number of ‘loose ends’.

For example, German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters is convinced of Brückner’s guilt, that he ‘did the deed’ (meaning killed Madeleine) but at the same time, RTP reports that Brückner’s “best friend” Michael Tatschl – apparently living with Brückner at the time Madeleine went missing – has told the UK Mirror his friend “was a pervert and would be perfectly capable of kidnapping a child for sexual abuse or money”.

In other words, if Maddie was kidnapped in order to be sold, it is unlikely Brückner would have murdered her and thrown her body into a well.

What has emerged certainly is that authorities are persisting in efforts to find the ‘missing piece of this puzzle’: the ‘smoking gun’ that could nail Brückner to the most-talked-about missing persons case of modern times.

When German police first trailed Brückner as their suspect, they released details of a mobile phone with which he had carried out a half-hour conversation shortly before Madeleine disappeared from her bed.

Hopes were that they would discover who had been on the other end of the line and so get a little closer to solving the case.

According to Sexta às 9, this hasn’t happened.

Brückner meantime remains in jail, allegedly saying he had nothing to do with any of it (click here).

Gonçalo Amaral, the former PJ coordinator who led the initial investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance, has reiterated his belief that Brückner is being used as a convenient scapegoat (click here).

The McCann case: well, well, well.....
    Len Port

With two futile weeks of ground searching and the questioning of four unlikely suspects still fresh in the memory, a former Scotland Yard commander had a new idea. In a report in the Mail on Sunday he urged detectives to examine an abandoned well “just 875 yards from the apartment where Madeleine McCann vanished.”

The newspaper carried an aerial view of the location and also a close-up photo of the supposed well.

“The Mail on Sunday has established that the uncovered shaft is on scrubland used as a campsite by Roma Gypsies – and has been overlooked by Portuguese police,” according to the paper.

The aerial view indicated that the well was located on land behind the property of a well-known resident of Praia da Luz. He told us that in his 28 years of living there he had never seen Roma Gypsies camping in the area.

But the Mail on Sunday’s claim could not be lightly dismissed because the former commander had served 27 years with the Metropolitan Police and as Commander of Specialist Operations had dealt with serious crime, from murder to rape and human trafficking.

“It [the well] is clearly known to locals and possibly to local criminals as a place to discard evidence from petty crime, such as handbags and other unwanted stolen items,” said the ex-commander.

The local homeowner was bemused by this. “Before they tossed the handbags into the well, I hope the Roma Gypsies checked to see if they were Gucci,” he said.

Of course the ex-commander was not just talking about petty crime. He quickly came to his main point: “Whoever abducted Madeleine knew the local streets, alleyways and scrubland and used that knowledge to avoid detection.”

Not one to shirk a challenge even on a formidably hot summer’s day, our source in Luz went to check out the ex-commander’s hunch.

The first problem was a two-metre high fence. With difficulty he managed to find a hole in the wire only to be confronted by a six-metre wide boundary of thick vegetation. Eventually he emerged prickled, sweating and swearing into a recently mowed hay field.

“I felt relieved that if I were now to be attacked by irate Roma bandits, at least I could see them coming and hopefully make a hasty retreat,” said our intrepid explorer.

“I walked all over the hay field but was not able to discover a well. I was relieved to be able to return to the gap in the fence and depart with no loss of either wallet or handbag.”

Asked about a circular object that can be seen in the middle of the area on Google Earth, our source in Luz said, “it could be an alien landing pad, but more likely a flat round area for threshing corn. It’s certainly not the well shown in the paper.”

He concluded with dismay that tourism-dependent Luz had once again been portrayed as a lawless place – and certainly not the sort of place to go on holiday.

If Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood and his team decide to take the ex-commander’s advice and go searching wells, they had better come prepared for a long stay. There are many hundreds of wells dotted all over the Algarve. Fortunately, most of the others are fairly easy to find.

Meanwhile, the “Stop McCann Circus” street signs are still in place in Luz.

Maddie McCann: Surprise for investigators - they hadn't expected this news from Portugal

    Marcel Storch
    on 07/13/2020 at 11:48 a.m.

In search of the missing Maddie McCann, the police search old wells around Praia da Luz. The place where the three-year-old disappeared 13 years ago.
The reports about the new search measures by the Portuguese colleagues caused surprise for the German investigators. "I also read about it, but the measures were not taken in consultation with the BKA or us. "The Portuguese police are investigating themselves," said Hans Christian Wolters from the Braunschweig public prosecutor's office to this editorial team. "We don't know what knowledge they are based on," he emphasizes.

Maddie McCann: German investigators surprised by search measures
Wolters suspects that the Portuguese police, startled by global attention, may have received new evidence in the Maddie McCann case, which the local police are now investigating.
The search had previously focused on three wells near the village of Vila do Obispo, reports the Spanish newspaper "The Olive Press". According to an anonymous source, it is said that the search should be intensified this week. The Portuguese TV broadcaster reports that new clues have appeared during the search. Divers are said to have been in action.

    Criminologist criticizes Maddie investigators' actions
There has been repeated criticism in international media recently that investigators from Germany, Great Britain and Portugal do not coordinate sufficiently. For example, the criminologist Heriberto Janosch Gonzalez wrote on his blog: "The three main police authorities involved, Policiia Judiciaria, Soctland Yard and the Federal Criminal Police Office appear to be investigating independently of one another, not sharing all the data with one another."
For example, he suggests a joint investigation team ("Joint Investigation Team"), as is used in other international investigations.
Prosecutor Wolters: "We are in contact with our Portuguese and British colleagues, are in exchange, but we do not talk to each other all the time." However, investigation results would be shared with each other at the right time.
In Wolter's view, a joint investigation team makes sense especially when it comes to dynamic investigations across borders. "In our case, the evidence is complete, the suspect is in custody."
Investigators continue to hope for the big breakthrough. After the case was broadcast again on file number XY, there was no such thing as a “really big new note,” says Wolters.

Was judgment against Christian B. legal?
He and his colleagues will look to Luxembourg this week. Because here is an explosive judgment: The European Court of Justice makes a decision on Thursday whether the judgment of the Braunschweig Regional Court against Christian B. was legal for raping a US tourist.
Christian B. has filed an appeal. Portugal originally delivered the Maddie suspect to Germany for another crime. Was he allowed to be indicted and sentenced without Portugal's consent? The Federal Court of Justice has to clarify this question and has asked the European Court of Justice for clarification. Should the judgment be overturned, B. could be released early next year.
“Of course we have an interest in keeping our suspect in custody. This gives us access to interrogations and in the event of an indictment, ”says Wolters.

Prosecutor: "will draw a line and look"
But the investigator is still unable to say whether there will be an indictment. He expects the investigation to take a few more months. "We have no endeavors to drag this out unnecessarily. We'll draw a line at some point and see: Is it enough for an indictment or not? ”So the Maddie McCann case will keep us busy.

“Portuguese state broadcaster RTP has reported officers, working with their German counterparts, discovered ‘fundamental evidence’ to be able to prove suspect Bruckner is responsible for Maddie’s kidnap and murder.”

This isn’t supported by Wolter’s statement in the German article. The German’s are supposed to have been caught by surprise…

“The family’s ex-publicist Clarence Mitchell has said they are being ‘kept informed every step of the way’ by British police, and that the McCanns will refuse to believe she is dead until her body is found.”

Shouldn’t the response by the McCanns have been that they won’t believe she is dead UNLESS her body is found, rather than until, which suggests that a body is about to be found, implying they know she’s dead?

Or, possibly, are they saying they won’t own up until a body is found… knowing there’s no body to be found?

Madeleine McCann suspect's prosecutors were not told about police search of wells

Portuguese police sent divers to explore three wells last week in the search for Maddie, although they failed to tell German prosecutors about the dives amid calls for a joint investigation

    By Dan Warburton
    21:13, 13 JUL 2020 Updated07:45, 14 JUL 2020

German prosecutors were not told about fresh searches for Madeleine McCann – and say they do not even know what prompted them.

Portuguese police sent divers to explore three wells last week near where German suspect Christian Brueckner used to hang out.

But Braunschweig public prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters has revealed he was not alerted in advance.

His remarks will raise further concerns about the hunt for Maddie, who vanished from her Praia da Luz holiday home in 2007.

It has been plagued by claims of “botches” and missed chances to find her by Portuguese police.

Mr Wolters, overseeing the investigation into paedophile Brueckner, said of Thursday’s search: “I read about it, but the measures were not taken in consultation with us.

“The Portuguese police are investigating themselves. We don’t know what knowledge they are based on.”

According to reports in Germany, Mr Wolters suspects the Portuguese police, startled by renewed global attention, may have had new information.

The force has been criticised for its handling of three-year-old Maddie’s disappearance, with claims they were desperate to blame parents Kate and Gerry, both 52.

Calls have now been made for a full joint investigation after German police revealed in June they believed Brueckner, 43, had taken and killed Maddie.

Criminologist Heriberto Janosch Gonzalez wrote on his blog: “The three main police authorities involved appear to be investigating independently, not sharing all data with one another.”

Mr Wolters reportedly said: “We’re in contact with Portuguese and British colleagues, but do not talk to each other all the time.

“In our case the evidence is complete, the suspect is in custody.”

The three abandoned wells in Vila do Bispo are in an area known to have been a haunt of Brueckner.

A police photo of his VW van was taken at nearby Boca do Rio beach. It is thought no evidence was found.

Brueckner is in jail in Germany for drug offences. On Thursday a court will hear his appeal against a conviction for raping a woman of 72 in Praia da Luz in 2005.

He claims the trial was unlawful because he was extradited to Germany on drug charges, not the rape.

Madeleine McCann’s parents’ heartache as German cops prepare to drop investigation

    Nick Parker, Nick Pisa
    14 Jul 2020, 21:30 Updated: 14 Jul 2020, 22:28

MADELEINE McCann’s parents face fresh heartache as police in Germany prepare to end their investigation into her disappearance.

It comes amid fears prime suspect Christian B could be out of jail in days.

German police are convinced the paedophile snatched Madeleine then killed her and say they will decide whether to charge him “within months”.

But lead prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters said his team would not continue their inquiries indefinitely.

Lawyers for Christian B, 43, will be at the European Court of Justice on Thursday to appeal his seven-year jail term for raping a pensioner in Praia da Luz in 2005.

Madeleine, then three, was abducted from her family’s holiday apartment in the Portuguese resort in 2007 while parents Kate and Gerry ate a meal nearby.

Mr Wolters said: “Of course we have an interest in keeping our suspect in custody.

“This gives us access to interrogations in the event of an indictment.

“We have no endeavors to drag this out unnecessarily. We’ll draw a line at some point and see.”

Portuguese police have been searching old wells around nearby Budens for the body of Madeleine. But they have not told British or German cops what prompted the operation.

Christian B, who we reported once boasted of snatching Madeleine, is serving time in a German jail for drugs.

If his rape appeal is successful he will be freed.

A source said: “What we fear is liberal judges will release him and we will lose him . . . which would threaten the case enormously.”

"File number XY ... unresolved": Rudi Cerne calls new note in the Maddie case potentially "effective"

"Case number XY ... unresolved" moderator Rudi Cerne suggests in an interview that one of the references to the Maddie case after the last broadcast at the beginning of July could well be useful. But the evidence would still be missing - and a body.

The investigation into Madeleine McCann, who has been missing for 13 years, is still in full swing. In a video interview with “Bild” Rudi Cerne, who had started another call to witnesses in the program “Aktenzeichen XY ... unresolved” at the beginning of July, stated that among the 16 clues that followed, there was one who “definitely could be ".

The notice is related to the Portuguese prepaid phone number that spoke to suspect Christian B. on the evening of Maddie's disappearance. It is said to be a new approach to determine the cell phone number, since in Portugal it is possible to top it up at the multibank machines.

In the interview, however, Cerne admitted that the level of knowledge is still very vague. As far as he knows, there is still no urgent suspicion against Christian B. “Evidence is still missing. And a body is missing. ”But he hoped that the case could be solved and referred to the new investigative approaches of the Portuguese police, who are investigating three irrigation wells near Praia da Luz, where the girl had disappeared 13 years ago .

At the beginning of May, Rudi Cerne and BKA chief investigator Christian Hoppe presented new details on the Madeleine McCann case, which has been keeping the world public in suspense since 2007. The investigator presented the German criminal Christian B., who is currently in the JVA Kiel because of a drug crime, as a new suspect and asked the audience for information and their support. Since then, more than 800 references to "Case number XY ... unresolved" regarding the Maddie case have been received.

German police are 'close to identifying mystery caller who Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner spoke to on night she vanished' as officers follow up 16 leads from members of the public after TV appeal

By James Robinson and Tracey Kandohla For Mailonline

German authorities are updating the McCanns on the status of the investigation
Police are reportedly close to identifying mystery caller who spoke to suspect
Prosecutors believe Christian Brueckner, 43, is the prime suspect in the case
Despite their confidence, they do not have evidence to charge Brueckner
Madeleine McCann disappeared from an apartment Praia Da Luz in May 2007

German police probing the Madeleine McCann prime suspect Christian Brueckner are reportedly 'close to identifying' a mystery caller who he spoke to on the night the British teenager vanished from Praia da Luz.

Officers are said to be following up 16 leads from members of the public after an appeal on a German TV show - similar to CrimeWatch - according to the show's presenter Rudi Cerne.

According to the presenter, police have described one of the tips as 'useful'. It is apparently in the region of Bavaria, where Brueckner once lived.

But there is still no sign of conclusive evidence said Mr Cerne, who presents crime show Aktenzeichen XY.

It comes as MailOnline yesterday revealed how Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry McCann would be hugely ‘disappointed but not totally surprised’ if the German investigation into Madeleine’s 2007 disappearance is dropped due to lack of evidence.

Detectives in northern Germany have spent six weeks making desperate appeals for information to link prime suspect Christian Brueckner to the three-year-old’s abduction but haven’t secured the vital evidence they need.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters told the McCanns they had concrete evidence that Madeleine was dead in the biggest breakthrough in the 13 year case and said he hoped they could charge Brueckner within the next two months – but has added that their investigation won’t drag on forever.

Lawyers for Brueckner are due in the European Court tomorrow (Thurs) to argue that a 2005 rape conviction against him is unsafe and that he should be released from prison within days.

Mr and Mrs McCann, from Rothley in Lesicestershire, had their hopes raised but are now preparing for the worst.

A friend of the McCanns told MailOnline: ‘It looks like the latest suspect could be ruled out because there is not sufficient evidence to charge him which would be a huge embarrassment to the German authorities and very disappointing but not a total surprise to Kate and Gerry.

‘It had initially appeared such a vital and solid lead, and the breakthrough they had been dreaming of, but there seems to be a lack of any real evidence.

‘Kate and Gerry have had their hopes raised and dashed so many times before. All they want is answers and to find out what happened to their daughter after more than 13 years.’
'It is a very frustrating and difficult time for them.'

Brueckner, who is currently in a German prison for drugs offences and is set to be starting a seven-year jail term for raping an American tourist, is hoping to be freed this week on a legal technicality. His appeal will be heard in the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.

Mr Wolters had told the world he was convinced that Maddie, who vanished as a three-year-old from a holiday apartment in Portugal in May 2007, had been murdered. He said he even knew how she had died but had no idea where her body was.

He has now warned his team have no plans to 'drag this out unnecessarily' and said they would 'draw a line under' the investigation at some point.

Time is now running out as the three nation joint investigation, which has been embroiled in public spats, seek enough evidence to charge Brueckner with Maddie’s kidnap.

    *****

“But there is still no sign of conclusive evidence said Mr Cerne, who presents crime show Aktenzeichen XY.”

To be clear, they traced – although they only assume to have been so – a mobile number to Brueckner but are unable to trace the identity of the person using to the other number. Why?

Oh, but they are close… lol

“There is still no sign of conclusive evidence”

The crime in question, as per reported accusation, is the abduction and murder of a 4 yr old girl. Taking into account that this monster-making campaign has emphasized that he is a paedo, rape of the victim is implied.

So, it’s abduction, rape and murder of a 4 yr old girl.

Not exactly shop-lifting. Or burglary. Or fuel theft. It’s a very serious and heinous crime. In fact, one of the worst crimes a human being can ever commit.

One would think that to make such an accusation one would expect solid evidence before making it. Brueckner is being lynched.

Where is the presumption of innocence that the McCanns treasure so much that they have moved legal proceedings against Amaral (and lost) and against Portugal (ongoing)?

Isn’t Brueckner entitled to it? Or are only upper-middle class British doctors entitled to it? We thought ALL citizens were. Have the McCanns, directly or indirectly protested regarding this very clear breach of this Brueckner’s fundamental right?

    Oh, Kandohla is back.

Madeleine McCann suspect bombshell expected tonight after German Crimewatch tips

Christian Brueckner was identified as the prime suspect in Madeleine McCann's disappearance last month. Police have now reportedly received a "useful" tip on a number used to call him the night she vanished

    by Tom Towers
    09:19, 16 Jul 2020Updated11:08, 16 Jul 2020

A bombshell announcement regarding the key suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is expected tonight.

Christian Brueckner, a career criminal with a sordid history of child sex offences, has become the focus of the investigation.

The 43-year-old, who was living near the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz where Madeleine vanished in 2007, received a half-hour phone call the evening she disappeared.

This month, German cops appealed on their country’s version of Crimewatch for help in identifying the other number.

Police received 16 tips, of which one was described as “useful”, according to The Sun.

It reportedly came from Germany’s Bavaria region, where Brueckner used to live.

The caller claimed to have recognised the number, with more details due to be revealed tonight on the show.

Its presenter Rudi Cerne said: “I have the impression that the noose continues to tighten around the current suspect.”

Brueckner is currently serving a 21-month sentence for drugs offences and is set to start a seven-year jail term for raping a 72-year-old American tourist.

He was convicted of raping the woman in Portugal last year.

However, his lawyers are appealing at the European Court of Justice on Friday.

They will reportedly challenge the evidence and witness testimony against Brueckner, accuse the German authorities of violating international law, and of making legal errors during his extradition.

Last week, Portuguese police launched searches for Madeleine’s body on the Algarve.

They were carried out in wells in Vila do Bispo, a 20-minute drive west from the Praia da Luz resort.

Detectives also claimed to have discovered “fundamental evidence” that they believe shows suspect Brueckner is responsible for her disappearance.

However, the McCanns have still not been told on what grounds the police are acting.

A family source told the Daily Mirror: “It is a period of prolonged agony. They have still absolutely no idea what evidence police have to suggest Madeleine is dead.

“They are not being told what police believe happened to her. We feel desperately sorry for them as they’ve endured so much pain and angst for 13 years.”

Earlier this week, the TV investigator who exposed Jimmy Savile as a paedophile last night branded the three-force police probe into Madeleine’s disappearance "disjointed and fractious".

Former police officer Mark Williams-Thomas accused detectives from the three countries involved in the investigation of withholding information from each other.

He said Portuguese police had not told their German counterparts they were conducting new searches of three wells for Madeleine's remains.

And he said the Germans had not told the Metropolitan Police the "full details" of the evidence they had acquired against prime suspect Christian Brueckner – including why they were convinced the youngster is dead.

Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner goes to EU court to demand to be freed from jail on a technicality over rape of 72-year-old woman

By Nick Fagge and Harry Howard For Mailonline 12:10 16 Jul 2020, updated 15:06 16 Jul 2020

Christian Brueckner lawyers appeared at European Court of Justice on Thursday
They claim his seven-year rape sentence should be overturned
He is serving 21-month drugs sentence and is set to start rape sentence
Lawyers arguing it was a breach of international law to put him on trial for rape
This is because he was extradited from Portugal in 2017 for a different crime
Lawyers claim Germany needed Portugal's consent to extradite him for one crime and try him for another

The prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has demanded to be freed from jail on a technicality over his conviction for raping a 72-year-old woman.

Christian Brueckner's lawyer Friedrich Fulscher appeared before a panel of judges at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg on Thursday.

Fulscher argued that it was 'unconstitutional' that Brueckner had been tried for the brutal sex attack Praia da Luz in 2005 – two years before Madeleine vanished from the same resort in May 2007 – because it breached international law.

The ECJ will publish their 'opinion' in three weeks' time, on 6th August. Their final judgement, which usually follows the opinion and is binding on courts across the EU, will be delivered soon afterwards.

Fulscher argued that the 43-year-old should not have been put on trial for the rape because this charge was not part European Arrest Warrants issued to extradite him from Portugal to Germany in 2017 and from Italy to Germany in 2018.

EU law states that people extradited on the basis of a European Arrest Warrant can only be prosecuted for crimes listed in the document.

Brueckner is currently imprisoned in Kiel in Northern Germany for drugs offences.

Lawyers for the German government argued that Brueckner had forfeited his 'protection' against prosecution by flouting the rules and leaving the country.

Felix Halabi told the court: 'He flouted the rules.

'Despite the requirement to stay in the national territory [Germany] he did not stay, he left for Italy.

'In the case we are looking at the suspect made the most of open European borders.

'And now he wants us to read the law in such a way that it is turned on its head and provides him with an advantage in court.

'But in our view this cannot be the correct interpretation.'

He added: 'Freedom of movement is a great benefit to people all over Europe.

'Their freedom to travel freely without being violently robbed.

'In order to protect these freedoms there should be successful prosecutions.

'The European Arrest Warrant is a great achievement for Europe to make prosecutions much easier.'

Brueckner was extradited from Portugal to Germany in 2017 where he was jailed for sex offences against children.

He was released in August 2018 but was put under 'surveillance' and required to meet with a probation officer once a month.

But he fled the country – first to the Netherlands and then on to Italy – and was arrested in Milan and extradited back to Germany and jailed for drug offences dating back to 2011.

His lawyer Fulscher told the court he had simply 'gone on holiday' and that there had been no requirement for him to inform the authorities he was leaving the country.

He said: 'In the framework of the supervision order he was not required to remain on German territory.

'He had to report to a probation officer once a month.

'There was nothing further to limit his freedom.

'He wanted to go on holiday. This was communicated to his probation officer.

'There was no reason to oppose it and he left Germany to go on holiday.'

While serving the 21-month sentence for drugs Bruckner was convicted of the rape last year and sentenced to seven years.

But this conviction has been challenged in the German courts because the charges were not listed in either European Arrest Warrants and the ECJ must decide whether it stands or not.

This is the technical issue that the panel of five judges, chaired by Greek judge Michail Vilaras, will rule on.

Brueckner's current jail term will expire in January next year.

Last month German police named the serial sex offender as their prime suspect in the kidnap and murder of three-year-old Madeleine who vanished on May 3rd 2007 while on holiday in Praia da Luz with parents Kate and Gerry McCann.

Mobile phone data showed Brueckner was in Praia da Luz when the little girl - who was just days away from turning four - was taken.

German investigators also allege that records show he received a 30-minute phone call on the night of the crime.

Detectives in northern Germany have spent six weeks making desperate appeals for information to link Brueckner to the youngster's abduction but have not so far secured the vital evidence they need.

Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters, who is leading the investigation, has told the McCanns they have concrete evidence that Madeleine is dead, in the biggest break-through in the 13-year-old case.

He said he hoped to be able to charge Brueckner within the next two months – but has added that their investigation will not drag on forever.

Wolters has said the outcome of the ECJ hearing could result in Brueckner's rape conviction being quashed.

Brueckner, who was not in court today, remains in prison and will be informed about the court's decision in the coming weeks.

His lawyer refused to speak about Thursday's hearing or the Madeleine McCann case when he left the court.

Fulscher told MailOnline: 'I have no comment for the British press.'

The latest development comes after it emerged German police are reportedly 'close to identifying' the mystery caller who Brueckner spoke to on the night Madeleine disappeared.

Officers are said to be following up 16 leads from members of the public after an appeal on a German TV show - similar to CrimeWatch - according to the show's presenter Rudi Cerne.

We now understand why Italy and Portugal kept being mentioned - there were 2 EAWs.

The rest of the explanation is consistent with the court document we have downloaded.

On has to wonder why the probation officer didn’t refuse him permission to leave the country!

  47. We have to inform readers that we were shocked that the Sandra Felgueiras “Sexta às 9” programme revealed the name of the woman who was raped by Brueckner and also published intimate photos.

In the U.K., it would be a criminal offence to breach anonymity of a victim. Ethically and morally wrong to do it anywhere in the world.

As a result of watching the programme, something we had been discussing between ourselves was confirmed. Not a bombshell but quite surprising.

    MADDIE PROBE
Madeleine McCann prime suspect Christian B made ‘smoking gun’ phone call to ‘female accomplice’ on night Maddie vanished

    Nick Parker
    17 Jul 2020, 17:07 Updated: 17 Jul 2020, 22:39

MADELEINE McCann prime suspect Christian B had a female “partner in crime” in Portugal, it was claimed last night.

The convicted child sex fiend’s ex-girlfriend was today named as his alleged accomplice in a series of burglaries on the Algarve.

The woman is alleged to have helped Christian B, now 43, to choose luxurious holiday homes to plunder.

It is now suspected that a number that Christian B rang for half an hour the night of the McCann snatch could have been his then girlfriend’s - but there is no suggestion she knew he took Madeleine.

German detectives are said to now know who owned the number he called, yards from the McCann’s Ocean Club apartment.

Her name is said to appear on court files linked to the raids - including one in which the couple targeted a cash stash of 100,000 Euros.

His ex was named by Portuguese investigative journalist Sandra Felgueiras last night on an RTP national TV show titled: “The Accomplice of Christian B.”

Felgueiras identifies the woman - who is not being named by The Sun for legal reasons - and suggests she was an “accomplice” of career criminal Christian B.

The German woman, from Bavaria, has been questioned twice by police leading the McCann probe in her home country but is not regarded as a suspect in that crime.

But the Portuguese TV probe revealed the pair made off with vast sums of cash and property.

In one burglary alone, on November 1, 2007, they were said to have plotted to grab 100,000 euros packed into a suitcase at a stunning swimming-pooled property.

Christian B was said to have been recognised by neighbours as he fled Villa Magali in Praia da Gale, near Albufeira.

Felgueiras said last night: “I have evidence that Christian committed burglaries with [his then girlfriend].

“It was always the same modus operandi. She called him saying the house was free. Then it got robbed.

“I know [his ex] got investigated by police over it. The victims contacted me and I have now confirmed it with the court files.”

His ex claimed to be a child psychologist and ran a rehabilitation programme for troubled German teenagers from her home in Foral, 45 minutes drive from Praia da Luz.

Christian B was a frequent visitor to property called Villa Bianca and lived there for months after the disappearance of Madeleine in May 2007.

His distinctive yellow and white VW Camper van was spotted there before the toddler vanished and he is believed to have dated the woman off and on for years.

She has since denied being close to him - but her taxi driver father recalls meeting Christian B in Portugal.

    'YELLOW HOUSE'

Christian B’s best friend Michael Tatschl alleged that he was a prolific burglar while he lived with him in Praia da Luz in 2005 and 2006.

The Austrian revealed that he kept hundreds of passports, expensive watches and jewellery in a secret hiding place in the so-called “Yellow House” they shared just outside the resort.

He said he particularly targeted British and German tourists, as they were easy pickings.

The pair spent eight months in prison together, after being caught stealing petrol from cars in April 2006.

During the time in prison he revealed that Christian B had asked two friends to go into the house to remove any incriminating evidence that could be held against him.

This included a video recorder found to have a film of the German raping an elderly woman, believed to be a 72-year-old American in Praia da Luz in 2005.

Christian B is currently in prison in Germany after being convicted in December of the 2005 rape yards from where Madeleine vanished two years later.

His lawyers told the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg on Thursday that his seven-year sentence for the rape should be overturned on a technicality.

They claim he was tried for the rape after being extradited from Italy on child molestation and drug charges, breaching international law.

A decision will be announced within weeks which could see the danger man released immediately.

A girlfriend of Christian Brueckner helped him raid properties in the Algarve
Brueckner is the latest prime suspect in the Madeline McCann disappearance
Nicole Fehlinger is accused of aiding an Algarve break-in in November 2007
The accused crime took place six months after Madeline McCann vanished

Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner’s alleged ex-girlfriend was finally unmasked last night – sparking hope she could unravel the mystery of the three-year-old’s disappearance.

Nicole Fehlinger was named by a Portuguese couple who linked her to Brueckner for the first time in a bombshell interview.

They claimed she acted as his accomplice to raid properties in the Algarve with chilling similarity to the break-in at the McCanns' holiday home in 2007.

Ms Fehlinger was accused of tipping off Brueckner so he could steal a family's life-savings from a house along the coast from Praia da Luz just six months after the youngster.

A man bearing a striking resemblance to Brueckner was seen leaving the house in Albufeira carrying a rucksack and heavy tools that could be used in to break-in.

The family were left devastated when they returned home to discover that their 100,000 euros savings had been stolen, in November 2007.

The pair accused Fehlinger of being involved in the burglary which was carried out in the same method as the break-in at the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz where the Madeleine was on holiday with her parents Kate and Gerry McCann, in an official complaint to the police.

She was also accused of using a disposable mobile phone to call Brueckner and alert him that the house was empty so he could steal the cash.

Nicole Fehlinger, 43, was born in Wuerzburg, the same Bavarian town as Christian Brueckner.

She lived in Portugal for many years and looked after troubled teenagers as part of a German fostering programme. She returned to Germany in 2017.

Fehlinger currently lives in Bavaria and is believed to work in the hospitality business. She has three children.

There were also reports last night she could have even been the woman Brueckner called on the day Madeleine vanished, but no evidence to confirm.

Portugal's Friday at Nine TV crime show reported: 'These two Portuguese women are sure that Christian Bruecker was the robber and that Nicole Fehlinger was his accomplice.

'They believe she as behind the cunning scheme in which a suitcase containing Euro 100,000 was stolen.

In an interview with the Portuguese broadcaster RTP the relatives claimed that Fehlinger – a former friend - learned that they had failed to deposit their life savings in a bank and hatched a plan with Brueckner to steal their money.

Fehlinger, who had been travelling with the home-owners in a car, asked them to stop so she could buy a disposable phone which she used later to call Brueckner, they claim.

One said: 'She saw us leave with a suitcase in hand, of course.

'And she was in the car the whole time we were in that office, she was in the car with my granddaughter.

      (Cont)

      Delete
    2. (Cont)

'But she saw us go to the bank - it was BES bank, which was close to that office - and, I don't know how she could have realized that it was not possible to deposit the money.

'On the way to back she stopped at a mobile phone store.

'She even told me that she was going to buy a cell phone and she even wanted a disposable one, that she even told me.

'She received a call, it was spoken in German, we heard the word "naturlich", which means "for sure", "naturally."'

Two days later the property, in Praia da Gale, in Albufeira, was broken into and the money the life-savings were stolen.

Friday at Nine reported: 'As in the Maddie case, the phone call took place just before the crime, signalling that the house was free.

'A man who neighbours have described as being Christian Brueckner made a phone call and left with a ruck sack from which hung a heavy tool.'

The family contacted the police and accused Fehlinger of being involved in the burglary but the case was never solved.

Ms Fehlinger has refused to discuss in detail about her relationship with Christian Brueckner but has denied that she was his lover.

She also declined to comment on the allegations made by RTP's Friday at Six show.

Ms Fehlinger met Brueckner in 2006 and he parked his motorhome outside her home in Foral several times.

However her father Dieter has told how Brueckner bragged that he was a drug smuggler and could hide children in his motorhome.

The 43-year-old sex offender is claimed to have chillingly added: 'Nobody can find them, nobody can catch you.'

The 65-year-old former ambulance driver father was visiting his daughter Nicole at the villa where she helped to rehabilitate troubled German teenagers in the early part of 2007 when Brueckner arrived in a large cream-coloured Winnebago campervan with Hanover licence plates.

Dieter explained: 'As I looked inside, I asked him: "Herr Brueckner, what do you do in Portugal? What is your job?"

'He told me: "I work, I get money, because I have a special business. I transport grass [cannabis] in my van." I was surprised, I did not believe it exactly.

'Brueckner told me again: "I have 50kg of grass, and I transport it around Europe."

'I thought he was joking at the time. He said: "In my van, I can take 50kg of grass, nobody can see it."

'He told me: "I can transport children, kids, in this space. Drugs and children, you can transport them in this van, it's a safe space in the van, nobody can find them. Nobody can catch you." '

Last month German police named Brueckner as their prime suspect in the kidnap and murder of three-year-old Madeleine who vanished on May 3rd 2007 while on holiday in Praia da Luz with parents Kate and Gerry McCann.

There is no evidence here that she was the caller that night.

We remind readers that the last girlfriend Mark WT claimed had made the call was only a young teenager in 2007.

Charges against Madeleine McCann suspect are 'unlikely': Christian Brueckner's lawyer

By Claire Duffin for the Daily Mail

Charges against Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner are unlikely, his lawyer claimed yesterday.

Friedrich Fulscher said he has not been told what evidence German prosecutors have against his client but it was not up to him to ‘prove his innocence’.

Brueckner, 43, has denied any involvement in the three-year-old’s disappearance.

Mr Fulscher said it was for detectives to prove he was guilty. The news comes as Christian Brueckner's 'girlfriend' accomplice was revealed this week, sparking hope she could unravel the mystery of the three-year-old’s disappearance.

‘As things stand now I do not actually believe there will be any charges,’ he said. ‘I do not anticipate a prosecution.

‘Thank God, in our legal system the prosecution has to prove the crime to an accused person and it is not the accused who must exonerate himself.

‘As long as my client does not know what he is accused of, and on what basis, there is no reason to think otherwise.’

Mr Fulscher said he had not had access to prosecutors’ files but added: ‘The question should be, what speaks for my client’s guilt?

'And that’s the job of the public prosecutor’s office in Braunschweig, to put the facts on the table that speak for my client’s guilt.

‘After completing its investigation, the public prosecutor’s office must assess whether there are sufficient suspicions to warrant an indictment and if a conviction is more likely than an acquittal.’

It comes after the lawyer went to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg on Thursday to demand Brueckner be freed from jail on a legal technicality.

Mr Fulscher argued that the convicted paedophile’s arrest for the brutal rape of a 72-year-old American was unlawful.

Brueckner was found guilty last year of the horrific attack on the woman in Portugal in 2005 after his DNA matched a hair found on her bed.

The former car mechanic is currently serving time in jail in the northern German city of Kiel for drugs offences.

He faces a further seven years in prison for raping the pensioner but Mr Fulscher said he should not serve that sentence as he was extradited from Portugal in 2017 on separate child abuse charges.

He claimed Germany needed Portugal’s explicit consent to extradite him for one crime and then try him for another.

A judgment on the case could take six months.

German prosecutors believe Brueckner killed Madeleine, who vanished from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal in 2007, but do not yet have enough evidence to charge him.

They have issued appeals for witnesses and for information about a mystery person who called Brueckner on his mobile phone the night Madeleine, from Rothley, in Leicestershire, went missing.

German prosecutor Christian Wolters said the case was ongoing and he could not provide updates.

‘We will not draw a line under the case even if we cannot promise that at some point there will be an indictment in the Maddie case,’ Mr Wolters said.

‘I don’t think our accused will be released anytime soon because he’ll probably be in jail for drug trafficking until 2021.

‘But we cannot influence the decision of the European Court of Justice anyway and we have to accept it as it will be.’

One of the objectives has been fully reached: the Germany has achieved a stronghold in the case.

Before June, when someone spoke about the case, they either talked about Operation Grange and or the PJ.

After June, it’s Portugal, UK and Germany. Not necessarily in this order.

Fehlinger also refused to clarify relationship with suspect Christian Brueckner

The 'ex-lover' of Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner today refused to answer questions about her, when challenged to tell the truth by MailOnline.

Nicole Fehlinger was accused by a Portuguese couple of tipping off Brueckner so he could steal a family’s life savings.

Neither Brueckner or Fehlinger have been arrested or charged with this offence and it is not known whether the allegations are credible.

Some think that if Fehlinger is connected to Brueckner she might hold the key to unlocking the mystery of what happened to the missing three-year-old.

She was accused on Portuguese TV of working with the German drifter to carry out a burglary in the Algarve that bore a chilling similarity to the break-in at the McCann’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, in May 2007.

But pictured today outside her home in Bavaria, Germany, the 43-year-old refused to deny any involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance or to clarify her relationship with Brueckner - after her claims she hardly knew him were exposed as being untrue.

Court documents in Portugal have revealed that she had regular phone conversations with Brueckner and enjoyed a romantic weekend break in Lisbon together – just months after Madeleine disappeared in May 2007.

Nicole Fehlinger was accused of tipping off the German drifter so he could steal a family’s life-savings from a house along the coast from Praia da Luz in November 2007.

Portuguese TV investigation show Friday at Nine reported: ‘As in the Maddie case, the phone call took place just before the crime, signalling that the house was free.

‘A man who neighbours have described as being Christian Brueckner made a phone call and left with a ruck sack from which hung a heavy tool.’

The family contacted the police and accused Fehlinger of being involved in the burglary but the case was never solved.

When asked under interrogation who she had called on a disposable mobile phone just before the Euro 100,000 burglary in Albufeira, Fehlinger replied: ‘Christian Brueckner.’

However the mother-of-three has always maintained she hardly knew the German serial sex offender.

Nicole Fehlinger allegedly told a friend: ‘I only met Christian Brueckner six or seven times. We knew each other but I was not his girlfriend.

‘One day I came home and he was in my neighbour’s garden and they were talking about cars.

      (Cont)

      Delete
    2. (Cont)

‘My neighbour told me he was German and he introduced me. Because we are both German we started talking.

‘Sometime later he asked if he could park his campervan outside my house. He asked if he could take water and some electricity. I said why not.’

Fehlinger, who was looking after troubled children as part of a German fostering programme, added: ‘He came into the house sometimes – for something to eat and to watch over the children.

‘I was not interested in him. I had my own boyfriend at the time. But I cannot say that he was not interested in me.’

Fehlinger has twice been interviewed by the German Federal BKA police who are in leading the probing the Madeleine McCann case about her relationship with Christian Brueckner.

The hotel receptionist has repeatedly maintained she had nothing to do with the youngster’s disappearance.

But her father – who was shocked when Brueckner revealed he could smuggle drugs and children in his campervan – does not believe she has told everything she knows.

Dieter Fehlinger told a friend: ‘Nicole does not tell me everything about her life in Portugal.

‘I don’t know what I can believe about what she has told me.’

Nicole is alleged to have enjoyed a passionate nine-month relationship with Brueckner in 2007 while her long-term boyfriend was back in Germany.

Her father added: ‘Nicole went to Portugal with a boyfriend. But he was not there when I went to visit. She told me he was back in Germany.

‘Later I found out that when the boyfriend came back he told Brueckner to get out.’

Herr Fehlinger was interviewed by German Federal BKA police last month after he revealed that Brueckner had bragged that he was a drug smuggler and could hide children in his motorhome.

He revealed: ‘There were two plain-clothed officers. They interviewed me for about two hours.

‘I told them everything - about the motorhome, the drugs and the children.’

The 65-year-old former ambulance driver father was visiting his daughter Nicole at the villa where she helped to rehabilitate troubled German teenagers in the early part of 2007 when Brueckner arrived in a large cream-coloured Winnebago campervan with Hanover licence plates.

Dieter explained: ‘As I looked inside, I asked him: “Herr Brueckner, what do you do in Portugal? What is your job?”

‘He told me: “I can transport children, kids, in this space. Drugs and children, you can transport them in this van, it’s a safe space in the van, nobody can find them. Nobody can catch you.” ’

Mugshots of Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner dating back two decades prove Portuguese police knew about his sordid past but still dismissed him as a suspect.

The series of pictures were taken in the Algarve in July 1999 – eight years before the youngster was abducted from Praia da Luz.

Brueckner, then 22, was being extradited back to Germany to be sent to jail for sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl in a playground in 1994.

The drifter served a two-year sentence before he returned to Portugal – living in towns and villages close to Praia da Luz.

The pictures, buried in court documents held in the provincial town of Silves, provide further evidence of the incompetence of the initial police investigation into Madeleine's disappearance from a holiday apartment in May 2007.

Brueckner's name should have been added to a police list of know sex offenders living in the Algarve.

But it was not and Portuguese detectives never considered the German could be involved in Madeleine's disappearance.

The drifter confessed to Portuguese authorities seven years later he was a sexual predator but this too was never recorded.

He told a Portuguese judge he had been in jail in Germany for sex crimes against children after he was arrested for stealing diesel in 2006.

Brueckner only became a suspect ten years later when he boasted to a friend in a bar in Hannover Germany while drinking that he was knew what had happened to Madeleine in Portugal.

The German Federal Police asked the PJ to investigate Brueckner and they discovered that the took a phone while he was in Praia da Luz just before the youngster vanished.

His former lover Nicole Fehlinger has been accused by a couple of acting as his apparent accomplice to steal their €100,000 life savings and think she might hold the key to solving the mystery of Madeleine's disappearance.

The police have never determined who stole the family money and neither Fehlinger nor Brueckner were arrested or charged in relation to the theft.

The mother-of-three has also always maintained she hardly knew the serial sex offender.

Last month German police named Brueckner as their prime suspect in the kidnap and murder of three-year-old Madeleine, who vanished on May 3rd 2007 while on holiday in Praia da Luz with parents Kate and Gerry McCann.

    1. See? It can be more pathetic by the minute.

As far as we know, Portugal did not have a sex offenders register in the late 1990s.

And, these people should coordinate their stories. Sandra Felgueiras in her initial "Sexta às 9" on this summer's Maddie silly season, showed a document that showed that in 2006 Brueckner had a clean record in 2006.

A document used in court that year.

    2. If CB was thought to have a clean record in 2006, why did GA say his home was visited by PJ in M case, but he wasn’t home when they called and he didn’t know if there had been any follow-up?

If he had no known record as a sex offender, why would he be of any relevance to the M case in 2007?

Because they knocked on many, many doors. And on many that they knocked, people weren’t in.

Amaral has said a colleague told him that he went to Brueckner’s house. Knocked and no one answered. They moved along and didn't return.

That just shows that he was not a suspect of anything but simply was going to be asked if he had anything to say that would help.

Then CB’s former girlfriend Nakscije M made the phone call, but when it was evident she was only a child in 2007, then she didn’t.
CB’s former girlfriend Nicole F made phone calls to CB, but no proof it was her call on the night of May 3rd.
The PJ were searching wells in the Algarve on behalf of the German police, then the German police said they knew nothing about it.
CB was going to be released last week, then he wasn’t.

Police in Portugal reopen rape investigation after claim against Madeleine McCann suspect
Hazel Behan thinks her attacker may have been Christian B, the main suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

      Martin Brunt
      Crime correspondent @skymartinbrunt
      Wednesday 22 July 2020 14:40, UK

Portuguese police have reopened their investigation into the unsolved rape of an Irish woman after 16 years.

Hazel Behan, 37, believes her attacker may have been drifter Christian B, the main suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

He was convicted of a similar rape a year after Ms Behan was attacked and two years before Madeleine vanished.

This week detectives collected their own archived case files from the court in Portimao to see if they could build a case against the suspect.

One problem they will face is that vital forensic evidence with potential DNA was destroyed on the orders of a judge, a common practice in Portuguese cases where no suspect is identified.

A source told Sky News: "Detectives are looking again for new evidence and the investigation is reopened."

Ms Behan was a 20-year-old holiday rep who arrived in Praia da Rocha on the Algarve coast in April 2004.

Two months later, a masked man climbed the balcony to her apartment and attacked her as she slept in the early hours.

He held a knife to her throat, tied her up and gagged her, then raped her repeatedly.

During the attack he threatened to kill her and left her bleeding before fleeing over the balcony.

Last month, when German drifter Christian B was named as the main suspect in the Madeleine case - and Ms Behan read about his conviction for raping an American woman in strikingly similar circumstances - she contacted the Scotland Yard Madeleine squad.

She told the Guardian newspaper: "My mind was blown when I read how he had attacked a woman in 2005, both the tactics and the methods he used, the tools he had with him, how well he had planned it out.

"I puked, to be honest with you, as reading about it took me right back to my experience."

Scotland Yard detectives interviewed Ms Behan and later told her they had contacted Portuguese police. It appears that has prompted the reopening of her case.

She has said she was badly treated by the Portuguese detectives, who abandoned their investigation after eight months without identifying a suspect.

Ms Behan described her attacker as white, slim, with blonde hair, blue eyes and possibly German.

According to the case files, detectives were unable to find anyone in their records who matched the description, but that was wrong.

In another Portuguese police file seen by Sky News, there are photographs of a young Christian B who does fit the description.

They were taken by police in 1999, five years before Ms Behan was raped, after he was arrested and deported to Germany for child sex crimes.

If police do find evidence against Christian B for Ms Behan's attack it is unlikely he would be charged as Portugal has a 15-year statute of limitations on rape investigations.

Madeleine McCann: Police 'closing in on number one suspect' in Portugal
EXCLUSIVE: Following talks with British officers on the new prime suspect it's said police are closer than ever to finding culprit who was visiting Algarve

    By Martin Fricker
    21:01, 21 JUN 2019 Updated21:44, 21 JUN 2019

Portuguese police are said to be closer to solving the ¬Madeleine McCann case after talks with British officers on the new prime suspect.

It follows a tip-off that a “foreign” man was in the Algarve at the time of the youngster’s disappearance in 2007.

Correio da Manha newspaper said police will look at a “new clue and suspect” and claimed they “admit to being nearer to knowing what happened to Madeleine”.

Scotland Yard detectives met Policia Judiciaria officers in Porto to discuss the investigation.

A source there said: “The British were here recently, there were talks at the PJ office in the city.

“It’s all very secret but then it always is with the Madeleine case. Only the police know who the suspect is.”

This was the first face-to-face meeting since Scotland Yard reportedly gave the new suspect’s name to Policia Judiciaria.

It is not clear if the man’s current whereabouts are known.

Madeleine was three when she vanished from her holiday flat at Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007 while parents Kate and Gerry ate with friends nearby.

The local probe into her disappearance was axed in 2008.

The Met launched ¬its Operation Grange in 2011.

Home Office chiefs have agreed to fund it for a further 12 months, making the bill so far £12million.

Scotland Yard would only say the investigation is “ongoing”.

  62. Do readers remember Martin Ney?

    https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/madeleine-mccann-child-killer-suspect-15002654.amp

Madeleine McCann child killer suspect 'was in Portugal at time of disappearance'

A worker says Martin Ney stared 'intently' at them and some female friends as they drank in an Algarve bar.

    by Martin Fricker, Amy-Claire Martin
    04:30, 6 May 2019Updated22:47, 5 May 2019

The employee – who did not want to be named – said: “I have a very good memory for faces. I remember him looking at us intently.”

They later moved to another resort in Greece and do not know how long Ney stayed in Portugal.

Ney is serving life in Germany for murdering three boys in 2011.

He resembles a chilling photofit of a man said to have been seen carrying a child shortly after Madeleine vanished in May 2007.

Known as the “masked man”, he targeted children who were on holiday – entering their tents or villas, armed and wearing a mask.

Authorities say Ney, from Hamburg, was in Portugal in the 90s and early 2000s.

He was first identified as a possible suspect by investigators working for Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Glaswegian Gerry, in 2011.

A former resort worker has told how they saw triple child killer Martin Ney in Praia da Luz around the time Madeleine McCann
    disappeared.

The worker said German Ney – named yesterday as a suspect in Madeleine’s case – stared “intently” at them and some female friends as they drank in an Algarve bar.

They recognised Ney, 48, after seeing his photograph in a Sunday newspaper.

Ney was there “for a fact”, the source said yesterday.

The ex-Mark Warner employee – who worked at the Ocean Club resort where the McCanns were staying – saw Ney soon after arriving in Portugal in April 2007.

They also saw him at Baptista supermarket, close to the McCanns’ holiday apartment.

The photofit resembling Ney was even in Kate’s book about Madeleine’s disappearance. Scotland Yard detectives spoke to their German counterparts about possible links several years ago.

But police there ruled out any involvement, saying Ney was only interested in young boys.

It emerged yesterday Portuguese detectives are investigating a second German sex offender.

It is understood they are probing if the unnamed man was part of a foreign paedophile ring operating in the Algarve.

Local media said he was living there when Madeleine vanished.

The man, who has a criminal record, is not linked to Ney.

A source said it meant police were “nearer” solving the case.

The man had contact with Portuguese authorities in the mid-2000s over criminal matters.

Scotland Yard has a small team still working on Madeleine’s case.

British and Portuguese police both refused to comment on the yesterday’s developments.

Madeleine’s parents, of Rothley, Leicestershire, still believe she is alive.

    1. So the nanny who was sent to Greece saw Martin Ney in PDL.

Would this be the same nanny who claimed the police showed her a photo of Brueckner but she didn’t recognise him?

Note at the end that the second suspect is mentioned - obviously Brueckner with hindsight.

It’s obvious that certain newspapers were being briefed in May 2019 and presumably the McCanns also?

Brueckner was served with papers relating to Maddie’s disappearance in 2013, according to German paper Bild but it wasn’t known what happened thereafter.

It was reported that the German crime programme received a tip off In 2017 which led to Brueckner being followed up yet again.

All we know for certain is that he was pursued for the rape case in 2018 and sentenced to 7 years in 2019.

OG seem to have put all their eggs Into one basket with Brueckner. If he isn’t charged in relation to Maddie, will it be the end of the line of this investigation?

  63. A hypothesis reading through all comments on current post and assuming all is said is true.

Mystery bombshell caller from Bavaria giving info to German crime show, about Brueckner’s caller on May 3, was likely Nicole Fehlingers’ father Dieter.

The details about Brueckner and Nicole’s relationship and alleged burglaries were from police file obtained by Sandra F. They were allegations, never prosecutions.

Dieter obviously disliked Brueckner and likely to be happy to put him in the frame for Maddie case.

He knew it was his daughter’s number, possibly called the TV show.

As both Nicole and CB lived in the area, it’s no surprise their calls took place in PDL area.

Wolters admitted to Mark Saunokonoko that he didn’t know which mast had pinged. We suspect that ‘fact’ came from OG when they sent info to German prosecutor/police.

In other words, there is no case against Brueckner. The mysterious phone calls earlier on the evening before Maddie was even reported missing were between a couple who knew each other and living in the PDL area.

If OG are now aware who the callers were and have no proof of exactly where the phone pinged (information impossible to have from 2007 existing technology) they should remove the request for info from the OG website.

    This prosecution is going nowhere.

Madeleine McCann: Woman claims she spotted missing girl in Portuguese resort in 2017

The woman claims she spotted the missing girl, who would now be a teenager, in a shop speaking German to someone else.

    Martin Brunt
    Crime correspondent @skymartinbrunt
    Friday 24 July 2020 18:44, UK

A retired teacher has told Portuguese police she believes she saw missing Madeleine McCann in a supermarket on the Algarve coast.

The woman claimed the teenager was speaking in German to another girl in the store near Albufeira, 60km (37 miles) from the resort where Madeleine vanished in 2007.

She said she believed it was Madeleine, who would be 17 now, because of the distinctive blemish in her right eye. It's a rare condition known as a coloboma that affects one in 10,000 children.

The woman said she saw her three years ago, but did not report the alleged sighting at the time.

She has only recently told police and she also contacted the McCanns' Lisbon lawyer Rogerio Alves.

The woman tells her story, anonymously, in an interview on Portuguese television tonight. She said she regularly spent her holidays in that part of the Algarve coast and can speak German.

Since Madeleine vanished, there have been nearly 9,000 reported "sightings" in 101 countries across the world, from Canada to New Zealand.

The latest claim contradicts the view of the German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters who says he has "concrete evidence" Madeleine is dead and is trying to build a murder case against suspect Christian B.

The witness believes she saw Madeleine in the Apolonia supermarket at the resort of Gale, she tells presenter Sandra Felgueiras on Sexta at 9, an investigative news programme on the Portuguese state-funded channel RTP.

She says she spotted her and realised it could be Madeleine, then waited for her at the check-out but didn't see her again.

She said: "I saw the spot on her right eye and after some time I associated the face with Madeleine, but unfortunately it was too late, they had already left the supermarket."

She went home and told her family what she had seen, but came forward recently only after seeing Christian B, a 43-year-old German drifter, in recent TV reports.

She tells RTP that after reporting the alleged sighting she heard nothing from the police. She said: "Until today I didn't hear from anyone."

It's understood Portuguese police are now expected to interview the woman, but believe the girl she saw was not Madeleine.

A child psychiatrist tells the programme it's possible an abducted child could learn to live happily with a new family, but would still remember her parents.

Madeleine was nearly four when she vanished from the family's holiday apartment in May, 2007 after being left sleeping with her younger twin siblings while her parents Kate and Gerry McCann dined nearby with friends.

There have been many alleged sightings of her in Portugal, including one three weeks later of a girl with her distinctive eye blemish in the Algarve resort of Vilamoura near Faro.

Another caller to police around the same time reported seeing a girl being pushed by a man in the northern city of Porto.

Seven months after Madeleine vanished, a lorry driver told the McCanns' private investigators he had seen a woman handing a bundle to a man across a metal fence elsewhere in the Algarve the day after her disappearance.

Madeleine has also been "seen" at a book fair in Rio de Janeiro, on a train between Brussels and Antwerp, on a boat in Egypt, at an airport in China and at a religious shrine in Bosnia.

Madeleine's parents are aware of the alleged sighting and their former spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: "Anyone who has any credible information regarding Madeleine must give it to the police, whether they are in Portugal, the UK or Germany.

"In this case, the information has been given to the Policia Judiciaria and it's now down to the authorities to establish if there's any truth in it.

"In the absence of incontrovertible evidence that the worst may have happened to Madeleine, Kate and Gerry will never give up hoping that their daughter may still be alive. They continue to have every faith in the British police and the work of Operation Grange."

The suspect Christian B, as he is known under German judicial privacy laws, is a convicted paedophile and is currently serving drugs and rape sentences in Kiel prison near Hamburg.

He lived on and off in the Algarve region from 1995 until 2007, but still travelled between Portugal and Germany until 2017, when he was deported to Germany for a second time to face child sex allegations.

The German prosecutor says there is a strong circumstantial case against Christian B, but he needs to find crucial forensic evidence to bring a charge. The suspect has yet to be interviewed about Madeleine's disappearance by German police.

Sky News has reached out the lawyer representing the McCanns for comment.

Do note that RTP (the state TV, equivalent to BBC) and Sky News are on this.

We’re back to the sightings scenarios from attention seeking people. And just as ridiculous today as they were then.

She saw Maddie but didn’t say anything until now?! 3 years later, the retired teacher, unimaginatively named Maria, decides to come forward.

Maddie didn’t have a coloboma. That word never passed the lips of the McCanns or any of their family and friends. A coloboma is something that really strikes anyone seeing a person who has one.

As the article says, it contradicts what Wolters claimed.

Suddenly an alive child is needed? That’s what OG want? Is this the move from the Brit side in this Wag-the-Dog game that has gone completely out of control?

If it is, a very weak move. Nobody will believe this tale. Total and shameless nonsense.

But we are enjoying seeing people throw their reputations away so easily. Let’s hope that the 30 silver coins are worth it. Then again, let’s hope not.

Could you please explain why Portugal would NEED a living Maddie?

As far as we can recollect, Portugal (talking about its Justice system) has never shown any will to cover-up for the McCanns.

Their attitude in our opinion has always been that of seeing it as a British problem for the British to solve but without making Portugal lie about it. In fact, Portugal has fought back on this Brueckner thing from the start.

We remind you that in the PJ Files, the PJ has stated on no uncertain terms that they believe that Maddie is dead. They haven’t been “able” to find the culprits yet but they have clearly spoken of a body.

      Delete
    2. A living Madeleine would negate at least some of the criticism levelled against the original PJ investigation team & would be the most desirable outcome right now.
The recovery of Madeleine's body in Portugal may result in a whole new ball game. Who would be prosecuted, and in which country? Portugal would have to make that decision as they have primacy.

We missed this early report on Brueckner.

“Portuguese Police have insisted that they passed all the relevant details on Brueckner to Scotland Yard in around 2012.
Carlos Fariniha from the Portuguese Judiciary Police (JP) said British police, who launched Operation Grange to locate the missing girl, showed no interest in the name of Brueckner and did not ask for any further details.
He said it wasn't until 2017 when German police provided information on Brueckner that they became interested and have since launched a new appeal for witnesses to come forward.”

So the Portuguese thought he was not a person of interest, the British thought he was not a person of interest but now he’s THE MAIN suspect!

“'He never really stayed in one place. He only talked about his girlfriend Maria – I think she was English and was working in Portugal.”

We know that Maria is a very common name in Portugal but apparently also is in the UK as English girlfriend of Brueckner is named as .... Maria!

  71. IF (a HUGE IF) Brueckner is charged with M’s disappearance, the probabilities are:
    .
    - that he will plead not guilty;

    - there will be no information on the phone call made to him;

    - there will be no evidence that the phone which belonged to him was used by him that evening
    the phone mast information will not be accurate enough to place the call near the apartment;

    - his lawyer will use the PJ file info to defend his client;

    - any witnesses claiming to have seen a man lurking near the apartment may be asked to give evidence and show their faces publicly;

    - a 6ft man using a window to escape carrying a child will be demonstrated as impossible;

    - Brueckner may be able to prove he was not in the area at the relevant times;

    - the indications of Eddie and Keela will be used by the defence;

    - the media will pursue information about the rape case which reignited the allegations against Brueckner, thanks to Sandra Felgueiras and her programme breaching the victim’s right to privacy her identity has been revealed and any investigative reporter can now track her background and current circumstances.

NIGHT MADDIE VANISHED Nanny working when Madeleine McCann disappeared reveals what REALLY happened – and claimed resort was so unsafe she was given a rape alarm

The Ocean Club worker, who was childminding on the night Maddie disappeared and witnessed her parents' reaction, has spoken
    ellie flynn, lauren fruen
    18 Apr 2017, 8:33 Updated: 19 Apr 2017, 3:16

A NANNY who was there the night Madeleine McCann vanished has claimed the resort was so unsafe she was given a rape alarm - and told not to go anywhere by herself.

The Ocean Club worker revealed her fears after a girl had been attacked "the year or so before in Praia da Luz" and said "it didn’t sound like a family resort to me".

The woman told The Mirror: "We were told, ‘Here’s a rape whistle, don’t go anywhere by yourself, ever.’ There’d been a girl attacked the year or so before in Praia da Luz. It didn’t sound like a family resort to me."

The nanny also recalled Maddie's parents' anguish and insists there is "no way they did it" - revealing Kate was in a "catatonic state" after realising her daughter was gone.

She blamed Portuguese police for a bungling investigation.

She told The Mirror officers told staff to "start looking in bins in case her body was in there" just hours after the youngster vanished and accused police of allowing people to traipse all over the crime scene.

The woman says she is regularly asked "if the parents did it", but insists there is "no way at all".

"A, timings and B, where it was, their reactions, the whole thing. Not a chance," she said.

Kate was reportedly in a "catatonic state" after realising Madeleine had vanished from their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz.

"She was pacing up and down. The worst possible thing had just happened to her," the woman said.

"I think I said something like, 'She'll be found, these things happen all the time.'

"She was crying but, almost in a catatonic state, and Gerry was very distressed. That's the one thing I really remember from him, looking under the cars. I can't forget that."

The worker claims police did not arrive for 90 minutes after being alerted and says people were walking in and out of the apartment - potentially destroying the scene.

She also says police missed out "whole chunks" of her interview and says they were trying to establish a timeline as they missed the crucial hour-and-a-half after the three-year-old vanished.

"I think a lot of things should’ve happened differently. ¬Unfortunately the effects were catastrophic," she added.

The woman says she has been left too scarred by the incident to return to childminding but remembers Maddie as "a real sweetheart".

She added the McCanns were recognised as a "perfect family" by workers on the resort and hopes the youngster could still be alive.

Maddie vanished from the holiday apartment she was staying in with her parents and twin siblings in May 2007.

Her parents had left the youngsters sleeping as they ate with pals at a nearby tapas bar, but were regularly going back to check on the kids.

When Kate returned to check on the trio at 10pm that evening, she discovered Madeleine was missing from her bed.

    1. The timing of this story is very interesting.

It’s April 2017 -but nothing in 2007 statements by nannies mentioned rape or a whistle.

None of OC management statements mentioned rape or a whistle in 2007.

If it’s a true statement, it’s obviously a ref to the American woman, who was assumed to be a girl as the nanny wasn’t given precise details.

May 2017 is when Bruckner’s friend heard a conversation in a bar in Germany which he reported as a result of German TV appeal. It was said to be second time Bruckner’s name had been mentioned. OG were given further details.

Why did rape whistle story emerge one month before the TV appeal?

If the story is true, why didn’t OC management report this to the PJ at the time?

What is the connection between an alleged rape of an adult woman and an alleged abduction of a 4 yr old with a significant reinforcement that it was paedo related?

She said the information he revealed was damaging and it scared her, but finding out the gang had gone behind her back and chosen Michelle to send the police out to Elaine's house without consulting her first, was the last straw. We are not stating these people are fascists – although some of them seem to show they hold very right-wing political views.

About whether they have or not criminal records, maybe we will know that one day.

That they are social misfits, is clear as crystal.

But the point we want to make is that this video was published on YouTube on April 7 2019. That means 74 yrs after the war, these people who decided at the time to do something very shameful because they “were looking for an easy life”, have had their names and faces publicly shamed. These are the names and faces of these disgusting individuals shamed in this video:

Madeleine McCann prosecutors 'involved in pressure game' with prime suspect

Bild editor Julian Reichelt appeared on Good Morning Britain today as he explained why he believed German prosecutors had not yet interviewed prime suspect Christian Brueckner

By Rose Hill Senior TV reporter
    10:56, 23 JUL 2020 Updated12:03, 23 JUL 2020

A German newspaper editor has suggested that prosecutors involved in the Madeleine McCann case are involved in a "pressure game" with the prime suspect Christian Brueckner.

This comes following the news that Portuguese police have less than two years to make their case against Brueckner for the kidnap and murder of three-year-old Madeleine.

According to the McCanns' lawyer Rogerio Alves, a 15-year statute of limitations for prosecutions in Portugal means that police only have 22 more months left.

Ahead of tonight's ITV documentary, McCann: The Hunt for the Prime Suspect, Bild editor Julian Reichelt appeared on Good Morning Britain today to speak about the lack of update from the prosecution on whether they would be able to take the suspect to court.

Reichelt explained: "The question here in Germany is why haven't they talked to the suspect yet? And is it true that they haven't talked to the suspect yet? Because this is what the prosecution is still claiming that he is in custody, he is in prison [and that] they are absolutely certain it is him.

"But they are also saying that they are not talking to him, they have not questioned him about the case and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann yet.

"And that, to German procedures, would be highly, highly unusual because why not just ask him? Just ask him if he knows anything about this case.

"He never signalled that he did not want to co-operate with authorities and even if he had, it wouldn't be a problem for them since he is in custody to question him and ask him about this case and maybe something will come out of it.

"From what we hear from sources within the investigation, within politics, this is not the whole story that we've heard yet. This is part of a pressure game to make him give things up or get other people involved in this [case]."

He added: "Certainly, not having talked to him is not the full story to this investigation on the German side yet."

Reichelt was joined by criminologist and former police detective Dr Graham Hill, who investigated the case days before Madeleine went missing in 2007 from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz.

Explaining the latest developments, Dr Graham said: "Well, I think we're into the stages where the suspect has been identified a few weeks ago to the national media by the German police and the UK police. But it seems as though they've had this guy in the system for a longer period of time.

"What it does is raise a number of questions - how long have the Portuguese police known about this guy? In what context did he come into the investigation? "And if he did get eliminated from the investigation, how did they do that? And when did they pass that information on to the Metropolitan Police? And in what context was that name given to the Met Police? And what did they do with that information?

"So it raises a lot of unanswered and difficult questions."

    1. Bild editor describes German police procedure as “highly unusual” and it certainly seems so.

To accuse anyone of being a suspect without even interviewing them is bizarre. Had they done so, Brueckner could have answered the question about the mysterious phone call – as there can be a perfectly reasonable explanation for it in the very unlikely case he did make it – or told them where he was that night.

They could have eliminated or included him as a suspect, based on an interview.

It seems even more bizarre, considering he was served with a document in 2013, described as a subpoena by some press, related to the Maddie case.

To name him publicly seems to be in contravention of normal procedure in Germany.

To accuse someone publicly without solid evidence goes against any normal procedure of any civilised country.

There is more to this case than meets the eye.

The rape-whistle nanny wasn’t Cat Baker, according to this.
The nanny said in another report she was shown CB photo next day in Mc apt which would mean she was interviewed on May 7th.
Based on details in her PJ interview, the nanny who described the rape whistles was likely to be Charlotte Pennington.

Who is the white 10 year old girl attacked in 2005 in PDL, as described by Redwood?
Strangely coincidental with rape of 72 year old in the same year and place?
Surely, if this were true, it would be all over the headlines about CB.
Wouldn’t the police be linking the 2 events?
Did Andy get his facts muddled and confused 10 with 72 or was he just listening to hearsay and gossip?

Madeleine McCann prosecutors 'have ace up their sleeve to nail prime suspect'

German paedophile Christian Brueckner is suspected of abducting and murdering Madeleine McCann, whose body has never been found after she vanished from a holiday flat in Praia da Luz, Portugal

By Chris Kitching Senior News Reporter

German prosecutors probing the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have an “ace up their sleeve” to nail the prime suspect, a top criminologist claims.

Investigators in Germany say they have evidence the British girl is dead and they are probing paedophile Christian Brueckner, 43, for kidnapping and murder.

Brueckner, who is currently in prison, was last month publicly identified as the new chief suspect in the case, but prosecutors have admitted they do not have enough evidence to charge him in the McCann case.

Prosecutors claim he was close to the Ocean Club complex in Praia da Luz, Portugal, about an hour before Madeleine is suspected to have been snatched by an intruder, and German criminologist and profiler Mark T Hofman claims there is "no doubt" the paedophile was at the scene.

Mr Hofman told the Sun: “Mobile phone data proves he was by the apartments. Also, his record fits the profile.

“I’m sure the prosecutor will pull an ace from up his sleeve and have more than we know so far.”

Madeleine vanished on the night of May 3, 2007 just days before her fourth birthday, while on holiday with her family, from Rothley, Leicestershire.

Her mum and dad Kate and Gerry had left her and her 18-month-old twin siblings Sean and Amelie sleeping in their flat while the parents went for dinner with friends at a tapas restaurant nearby.

Brueckner is alleged to have had a 30-minute phone call outside the apartment building shortly before she went missing.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters previously said a phone allegedly used by Brueckner pinged on a mast at the Ocean Club complex.

Brueckner is in jail in Kiel, in northern Germany, for drug trafficking and raping a 72-year-old American woman in Praia da Luz.

The rape occurred about 18 months before Madeleine vanished.

He was jailed for seven years for the attack and 21 months for drug trafficking.

Brueckner, then 30, lived in the area at the time, and police claim he was a drifter living out of a VW camper van when Madeleine went missing.

The paedophile has twice been convicted of sexually abusing girls in his native Germany.

He will find out next month if he is likely to be released through a complex legal loophole.

His lawyers appeared before judges at the European Court of Justice earlier this month, arguing that his detention is a breach of international law.

They claim it was a breach of European law to put him on trial for raping the US pensioner.

Brueckner's legal team say he should be freed because he was extradited from Portugal in June 2017 for a different crime.

After a “bombshell”, now it’s an “ace”. What will the next cliché be?

Madeleine McCann: Police search near Hanover linked to disappearance of British girl

German officers have been digging at an allotment area close to where the main suspect in the case used to live.

German police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are searching a site near Hanover, prosecutors have told local media.

Footage from the scene shows heavy machinery being used in the search.

Sky's crime correspondent Martin Brunt said: "It's a dramatic development. Police in Germany started digging at an allotment area near Hanover this morning, where Christian B, the main suspect in the Madeleine McCann investigation lived for a period some years ago.

"The public prosecutor's office and the federal police have confirmed to local media and to our own reporter in Germany that this is connected to the Madeleine McCann investigation."

He added: "Since this morning an area of trees has been cleared. Police are there, there are forensic officers there as part of this investigation. A mini excavator is being used to dig the land and there is some activity at least just off the side of the road there.

He said the main area of the search is on land where there is a bungalow, which is being used as a second home, and a garden shed.

Mr Niemtschke said the area is located between a road and a river.

"It's not clear exactly what police are looking for, whether it's potential evidence directly linked to the disappearance of Madeleine or whether its something that's more connected to Christian B the suspect."

Maik Niemtschke, who lives in Hanover, told Sky News the search began at around 6:30am local time (5:30am UK time) and up to 100 police officers have been at the scene.

He added that another area is being searched around 300m from the bungalow.

Julia Meyer, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office in Braunschweig confirmed local media reports that police investigators had been at the site since Monday with an excavator in connection with the case.

She said: "The procedure is taking place in connection with our investigation regarding Maddie McCann."

Ms Meyer said she could not give any further details on the procedure, adding only that police would "still need some more time to finish".

Madeleine was three when she disappeared from an apartment in the seaside town of Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2007.

A German citizen, who can be named only as Christian B, was identified as a suspect in the case last month and is being investigated on suspicion of murder.

The 43-year-old, who is currently in prison in Germany, spent many years living in Portugal.

He also lived in Praia da Luz around the time of McCann's disappearance, and has two previous convictions for "sexual contact with girls".

The suspect was last registered as living in Germany in the city of Braunschweig, which is about 40 miles from Hanover.

Madeleine McCann investigators enlist sniffer dogs as they dig up German allotment four miles from former home of suspect Christian Brueckner

The prosecutor's office in Braunschweig confirmed that the search was linked to Madeleine's disappearance
Brueckner lived in a trailer in Hannover and worked in a car repair garage in between spells living in Portugal

German police were today searching an allotment near Hannover with a sniffer dog in connection with the Madeleine McCann case.

Police were digging up the the garden with 'heavy equipment' including an excavator after fencing off the allotment this morning, four miles outside Hannover where suspect Christian Brueckner once lived.

'I can confirm that the search is being carried out in connection with our investigations into the Maddie case,' said Julia Meyer from the prosecutor's office in Braunschweig.

What police were searching for was not clear, but Brueckner is known to have lived in a trailer in the area and worked in a car repair garage in between spells living in Portugal where Madeleine disappeared in 2007.

Police put up a fence around the allotment after they started their search this morning, meaning they could only be seen through a copse of trees.

Some of the detectives were wearing forensic suits, while others were using rakes and shovels to search the area.

A sniffer dog was also deployed and trees were reportedly cut down to assist the search, while police vans were parked outside.

The search was taking place between the towns of Ahlem and Seelze to the west of Hannover city centre - and is expected to continue into Wednesday.

Meyer, the prosecutors' office spokeswoman, said she could not give any further details on the operation but added only that police would 'still need some more time to finish.'

The search was being carried out by officials from the prosecutors' office in Braunschweig, where Brueckner was convicted of rape last year, and the German federal police.

Brueckner, a career criminal, was identified as the new lead suspect in June after German police released a trove of new evidence including details of his cars and phone numbers, urging people to come forward with new tip-offs.

Investigators in Germany said at the time that Madeleine was assumed to be dead, going further than British police who are still treating the toddler's disappearance as a missing-person case.

Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, last month denied receiving a letter from German investigators stating that 'there is evidence or proof' Madeleine is dead.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters, who is leading the German investigation into Madeleine's disappearance, said that a letter had been written to the couple, but would not reveal what it said.

Mr Wolters said prosecutors have 'concrete evidence', but not 'forensic evidence' that Madeleine was killed by the suspect and may 'know more' than Scotland Yard, who are still treating the case as a missing person investigation.

The Metropolitan Police maintain their active investigation into Madeleine's disappearance, Operation Grange, is a missing person inquiry as there is no 'definitive evidence whether Madeleine is alive or dead'.

In the days after the renewed appeal, Scotland Yard said they received hundreds of tips to their Operation Grange team.

Brueckner is currently in prison in Kiel, although legal proceedings are underway which could see him released shortly after two-thirds of his sentence.

He is in currently in jail for drug dealing, and is appealing against a conviction for the 2005 rape of a 72-year-old woman, also in Praia da Luz.

That sentence has not yet been finalised pending an appeal by the defendant's lawyers over extradition technicalities.

Brueckner is thought to have worked in a car repair shop while living in a trailer in Hannover, and his last known address in Germany was 40 miles away in Braunschweig.

German media says he received at least two criminal convictions from a Hannover court, one for forging documents in 2010 and another for theft in 2013.

Portuguese authorities are also continuing their investigation and earlier this month searched a series of wells in the Algarve region.

Police and divers in the Algarve region examined a series disused wells in Vila do Bispo, around 10 miles from Praia da Luz.

Multiple investigators were at the scene with specialist diving equipment to examine the wells, with the largest thought to be more than 40ft deep.

Brueckner is known to have lived on the Algarve coast and his Portuguese mobile phone received a half-hour phone call in Praia da Luz around an hour before Madeleine went missing 13 years ago - a key piece of evidence in the German investigation.

Police hope to track down the person who placed the call, regarding them as a crucial witness to Brueckner's movements on the night of Madeleine's disappearance.

Brueckner made a living doing odd jobs in the area where Madeleine disappeared, and was also known to have burgled hotel rooms and holiday flats.

He has not yet spoken to investigators, who say they are convinced that he has committed other sex attacks.

Madeleine went missing from her family's holiday apartment in the Portuguese holiday resort of Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007, a few days before her fourth birthday, as her parents dined with friends at a nearby tapas bar.

Despite a huge international manhunt, no trace of her has been found, nor has anyone been charged over her disappearance.

In September 2007, Gerry and Kate McCann were questioned by police as formal suspects. The following July, the Portuguese police dropped their investigation because of a lack of evidence and cleared the McCanns of any involvement.

The UK government has continued to fund Scotland Yard's investigation despite increasing doubts over whether the case would ever be solved.

The McCanns' lawyer Rogerio Alves said police have only 22 more months to nail down the case because of a 15-year statute of limitations in Portugal.

Speaking on McCann: The Hunt for the Prime Suspect on ITV, Alves said: 'We have a 15 years time barrier, even to manslaughter, to homicide, to certain sexual offences — and even to the most serious kind of kidnapping.

'So we are still on time. But time is getting short now.'

Brueckner's name has also been mentioned in connection with other missing children, some of whom vanished in similar circumstances to Madeleine.

In one case, five-year-old Inga Gehricke vanished from a forest in Saxony-Anhalt in 2015 and prosecutors confirmed they were probing possible connections to the McCann case, while saying that Brueckner was not currently a suspect.

He reportedly had a property in the town of Neuwegersleben, around 60 miles south-west of Stendal when Inga went missing.

Separately, the family of German six-year-old René Hasse, who went missing in the Algarve in 1996, revealed that police are re-investigating the case for the first time in 20 years.

Dutch police have also prepared a dossier for German police to look for a possible link to the disappearance of seven-year-old Jair Soares in 2005.

Jair went missing when he went to buy chips near the town of Monster in the South Holland province of the country on August 4, 1995.

A spokesman for police in The Hague confirmed that after announcing their intention to exchange information they have now presented the case and 'were in talks'.

He said: 'Presenting the case means that we look if there are any similarities between the cases. So we look for clues that connect them.'

Why use a sniffer dog if, like the gang says, its alerts can be of blood from a living human?

Unless, of course, it is like we say: a cadaver dog alerts ONLY to cadaver scent in whatever substance, fluid or surface contaminated with it.

We remind readers that Operation Grange used dogs in their circus in Luz.

The article refers to an “American tourist” as the rape victim. The person in question was not a tourist but someone who resided in Praia da Luz at the time.

And the Spanish police never made the McCanns official suspects in the disappearance.

Madeleine McCann suspect buried 'German Maddie' at my allotment, new owner fears

EXCLUSIVE: The new owner of an allotment in Braunschweig fears Inga Gehricke's little body is buried on her property and doesn't feel comfortable in her house

      By Patrick Hill

Christian Bruckner may have buried the body of a missing child known as the German Maddie at his allotment, fears the new owner of the land.

Bruckner was quizzed but never charged after Inga Gehricke, five, vanished in 2015 near where he lived in Braunschweig.

Today’s owner, a 30-year-old woman, said her fear stems from the allotment’s isolated location plus the fact that Bruckner was the tenant when tragic Inga went missing.

And one of Bruckner’s old friends even suggested the possibility to her.

The woman, a tour guide, told the Sunday People: “I am worried he may have buried a body here.

"I want the police to dig the ground and check.”

Bruckner owned a house on the allotment from August 2013 to April 2016.

The current owner added: “The police have said nothing since I phoned and have not been to visit.

      "I’m disappointed.

“They came here in person in 2016 at 8am and asked me if I know him.

"I said no and they said goodbye.

"After 2016 no one from the police has come.”

The woman added: “I don’t feel comfortable in the house now.

A former Bruckner pal, who knows the woman, said: “There was a hole in the floor inside the allotment house and one day he told me he wanted to put a see-through perspex glass over it.

“I said to him, ‘What the hell for? Just so you can look down into a dirty old cellar?’

“In retrospect I think he wanted to build a Fritzl cellar like the guy in Austria who put his daughter down there.”

This shows it’s not a new place that’s come out of nowhere.

Are they’re desperate to find something before ECJ hearing on August 6, which suggests they may be anticipating losing their case against him?

The gang say Shell took a lot of persuading to call police over Elaine, so it would surprise people if she also called the police out to Debbie. Erica Jane could clear some of this up with the couple of people she kept closest contact with when she took a break. In case she's next for being thrown under the bus. If this story had any shred of truth to it, even if they were to find remains, it would not be announced it was Maddie as German police are looking for Inge, another girl, so they would have to be sure who it was.

No forensic tent or teams in white overalls yesterday.

On a first reaction we are tempted to say that it would be a humongous mistake to try and sell this off as Maddie but then we are reminded of Ben Needham, in which case it was enough to find a toy car to declare him officially dead and never speak about him again.

What will they “find” to say it’s Maddie? The pyjamas or the rag doll?

Madeleine McCann police resume search of Hanover allotment with metal detectors and radar equipment

The site is around 40 miles from the city of Braunschweig, where main suspect Christian B was last registered as living.

German police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have resumed their search of an allotment near Hanover with metal detectors and ground-penetrating radar equipment.

The site is around 40 miles from the city of Braunschweig, where main suspect Christian B was last registered as living.

Footage from the scene shows officers combing the ground with rakes, shovels and heavy machinery to investigate the area, as well as sniffer dogs.

It is unclear exactly what police are looking for, whether it is potential evidence directly linked to the disappearance of Madeleine or whether it is something connected to Christian B.

German prosecutors have said in the past that they have concrete evidence Christian B was involved in Madeleine's disappearance.

The prosecutors also believe Madeleine is dead.

Sky's crime correspondent Martin Brunt, who is at the scene, said the search was a "dramatic development", adding that an area of trees has been cleared and a mini excavator has been used to dig the land.

"The prosecutor who is leading the investigation into suspicions around the German drifter Christian B, and his potential role in Madeleine's disappearance, has said only that this is connected with that investigation," Brunt said.

"The local paper here this morning is reporting a neighbour who says that Christian B did live here in a camper van with two dogs around 2007, some time after Madeleine disappeared in Portugal.

"It is a 26 or 27-hour road journey from Portugal to here. So make of that what you will."

He added: "It is a scene of some activity this morning. It is difficult to see precisely what is going on.

"They have dug a big hole here, around 15 metres long and 3 to 4ft deep. They are sifting and raking through the piles of soil that have been tipped around the edge of that hole and the excavator is now filling the hole.

"There is no indication yet that they have found what they might be looking for."

Sky's Dan Whitehead, also at the scene, said officers are using metal detectors and ground-penetrating radar equipment as they continue to search for clues.

"At one point, a female officer picks up a piece of cloth and takes it to a blue pop-up tent to be looked at more closely," he said.

"All the time, a small orange digger continues to turn over land. There are around 30 officers working on this plot beside a busy road, four miles west of Hanover.

"The work is not forensic, but it is meticulous. Officers pace backwards, picking up items, mostly broken tiles, plastic, to see if anything is of interest."

Madeleine disappeared from an apartment while her family was on holiday in the seaside town of Praia da Luz in Portugal's Algarve region in May 2007.

A German citizen, who can be named only as Christian B, was identified as a suspect in the case last month and is being investigated.

The 43-year-old, who is currently in prison in Germany, spent many years living in Portugal.

He also lived in Praia da Luz around the time of Madeleine's disappearance, and has two previous convictions for "sexual contact with girls".

Madeleine McCann: Suspect Christian B rented allotment, neighbour says
    2 hours ago

The allotment owner told the BBC that the suspect Christian B arrived there in the year Madeleine went missing.

German prosecutors have said the search at the site near Hanover is related to the investigation into Christian B, a sex offender in prison in Germany.

Work began at the site on Monday and is expected to continue until Wednesday.

Madeleine was three years old when she went missing while on holiday with her family in Portugal 13 years ago.

She disappeared from an apartment in Praia da Luz on the evening of 3 May 2007, while her parents were with friends at a nearby tapas bar. It sparked a huge police hunt across much of Europe.

The man whose allotment neighbours the one being searched told the BBC that Christian B rented the plot for a few months in the year that Madeleine went missing.

The man said that Christian B arrived in the spring or summer of 2007 and told him he wanted to insulate a small shack which stood on a concrete base in the garden with a small cellar underneath.

The neighbour went on holiday in July 2007. When he returned in August, he said, the structure had been removed and he never saw the suspect again.

Christian B was revealed as the main suspect in the case in June, as German and UK police made a fresh appeal for help.

Suspects' surnames are not usually revealed in Germany for privacy reasons.

The 43-year-old is believed to have been in the area where Madeleine was last seen while on holiday in the Algarve in Portugal.

Police said he was regularly living in the Algarve between 1995 and 2007 and had jobs in the area, including in catering, but also committed burglaries in hotels and dealt drugs.

German prosecutors have previously said they have evidence that leads them to believe Christian B killed Madeleine, but it is not strong enough to take him to court.

Last month, the Metropolitan Police said the case remained a "missing persons" investigation in the UK because there was no "definitive evidence" as to whether Madeleine was alive or not.

However, German investigators have said they are assuming Madeleine is dead.

After the latest police appeal, Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, said: "We will never give up hope of finding Madeleine alive, but whatever the outcome may be, we need to know as we need to find peace."

So, and we are trying to follow the plot, the drifter with 2 houses and living in Foral and sleeping in his motorhome parked on various beaches, rents FOR A FEW MONTHS an allotment. In the spring or summer of 2007…

Yep, we’re buying this hook, line and sinker! What is there not to be believed in this story??? As if.

Isn't it about time for this character to be scrapped and go and try and find another patsy? It would be absurd? More than this? Really?

    1. And isn’t this bit lovely?

“Pictures of the van that served as his home were released by German police after he was named as the prime suspect.
It’s believed the van, or a 1993 Jaguar XJR6, which he has also been linked to, were used in the disappearance of the child.
Last week, a former ambulance driver who met Brueckner and saw the van told Spiegel TV: “He told me, ‘I can transport children, kids, in this space. Drugs and children, you can transport them in this van. It’s a safe space in the van. Nobody can find them. Nobody can catch you’.”
Authorities suspect there is still someone, yet to come forward, with information about whether these vehicles were used to kidnap Madeleine.”

      *****

Because the first thing one does after committing the most high profile abduction ever known to mankind, is to boast about it.

“‘I can transport children, kids, in this space. Drugs and children, you can transport them in this van”… every paedophile boasts to friends about where he can transport his victims, right?

It’s believed the vehicles were used but then they need information on whether they were!

    2. I don’t know how he could have lived “ off grid” on an allotment.
If it’s anything like the UK, people have to wait for a long time on a list before they are allocated an allotment.
If he was on a list, the precise date of being allocated the allotment would be held by the authority responsible.
Unless the actual owner had let him stay there. But nothing about contacting the previous owner.
The cellar was already there, probably for use as a cold storage area. CB didn’t spend a couple of months constructing it! Otherwise the neighbour would have said he saw him digging out and constructing a cellar.
      Anyway, it’s all over now.

Maybe doing a Barkas (Ben Needham case) on Brueckner?

We think that by now if one was to ask about Maddie to anyone not familiar with case, they would say "wasn't the German paedo who did it?"

    So not a forensic search.

No white tents, no white suited scientifically trained people, just an excavation. Like an archeological dig.

A dog was seen but presumably didn’t indicate anything, so no need for the above.

Then a rapid closing down of the site.

The cellar wasn’t a secret, because nobody had tried to disguise it or deny it existed. Each allotment holder probably had one, to store their produce.

We’ll probably have to wait until August 6 for next episode of this soap opera.

GERMAN police could swoop on a second allotment plot owned by prime suspect Christian B in connection to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

Locals fear the second plot in Braunschweig, Germany could be hiding another cellar - just like the one found 40 miles away in Hanover.

The emergence of a second plot comes on the same day that cops ended their probe of the allotment in Hanover.

Investigators have been searching land between Hanover-Ahlem and Seelze-Letter since Monday.

They dug up an allotment where Christian B is believed to have once lived in a caravan for a short while between 2007 and 2008.

Cops have also searched an underground cellar that has remained intact and untouched since Madeleine disappeared in 2007 - despite the building above ground being torn down that year.

    CELLAR FILLED WITH SAND
A hidden cellar that was discovered during a search for clues in relation to missing Madeleine McCann has now been completely filled in with sand.
Updated site pics show the garden has been cleared of vegetation, and covered in sand.
The abandoned German allotment has this week been the scene of an intense search by about 100 cops and forensic experts, which started on Monday night and has now ended.
A picture taken on July 29 shows a sign on one tree reading “No entry to the property. Parents are liable for their children” after the police finished a three-day search in the northern German city of Hanover.

    ‘SNIFFER DOGS BARKED AT CELLAR’
When a cement block covering a hidden cellar in an overgrown German allotment was removed, sniffer dogs immediately barked repeatedly, reports the Telegraph.
The paper quotes witnesses saying that they saw the moment the BKA, the German federal investigators, lifted off a cement block covering the basement at the council-owned site.
Upon removing the huge concrete slab, a sniffer dog led the way into the cellar, barking as it descended.
An eyewitness observing the forensic search in Hanover said: “The sniffer dogs were barking quite a lot.”

    CHRISTIAN B ‘MODIFIED VW VAN’
Madeleine McCann suspect Christian B repeatedly modified his distinctive VW camper van, according to a report.
Dein Ghafou, who owned a garage complex in Hanover, Germany, used by Christian B, told how he was visited by police investigating Madeleine’s disappearance.
“I told them he had been working on a ¬Volkswagen Camper here and he would lift the roof up and then make it smaller again,” he told the Mirror.
“He was always cutting the roof, raising it and then lowering it. He came and went here.
Neighbours of Christian B at an allotment searched by forensics this week said he lived in the VW LT camper van in 2006 and 2007.
“He had two dogs with him and a VW LT transporter,” a pensioner told Bild.

    WHAT WAS FOUND AT ALLOTMENT?
Cops in Hanover, Germany, have refused to reveal the contents of evidence bags containing items dug out of a secret cellar at the allotment used by Christian B.
Officers were seen taking away blue bags from the site of the Madeleine McCann prime suspect's former garden plot, found during the three-day dig.
Paedo Christian B, 43, used the plot in Seelze, Hanover, in the year Madeleine, 3, was snatched in Portugal.
The hidden cellar at the ¬allotment used by the Madeleine McCann prime suspect has remained untouched since she disappeared in 2007, locals said yesterday.
The search team discovered dozens of items in the secret cellar, which was under a long-demolished shed.
They include a blue bucket, a plant pot, tarpaulin, a string bag, bags of gravel, corrugated iron, wooden floor boards, iron bars, plastic piping, a laundry bag, plastic covering and a tree trunk.
The search has now come to an end and the allotment cleared and covered in a layer of sand, with just a police tape in place.
But prosecutors are refusing to reveal what they were looking for or whether they found it.

    ‘NEVER GIVE UP HOPE’
Madeleine McCann's parents Kate and Gerry have never stopped searching for their little girl ever since she went missing 13 years ago in Portugal.
Kate became a GP after studying medicine at the University of Dundee while Gerry has been a consultant cardiologist since 2005.
The couple got married in 1998 before having their first child, Madeleine, in 2003.
They also have twin children, a boy and a girl, who were born in 2005 and live in Rothley, Leicestershire.
Kate and Gerry had been married for nine years when Madeleine disappeared on the night of May 3, 2007.
In the intervening years, the couple have constantly kept the search alive for their daughter.
On an Official Find Madeleine Campaign Facebook page, the couple said last month, “we will not give a running commentary on the investigation – that is the job of the law enforcement agencies and we will support them in any way requested”.
They also said: “We will never give up hope of finding Madeleine alive but whatever the outcome may be, we need to know as we need to find peace.”

    LATEST IN SERIES OF SEARCHES
This week’s forensic investigation of an abandoned allotment in Germany is the latest in a series of searches in relation to the abduction of Madeleine McCann 13 years ago.
Sniffer dogs, ground-penetrating radars, aerial drone, along with a painstaking sift with rakes and shovels have helped in a three-day search of a garden in Hanover.
The plot is four miles from prime suspect Christian B’s last known address in Hanover and just two miles from where the 43-year-old worked in a car workshop.
The suspect is said to have been living at the site in around 2007 or 2008 after returning from Portugal, Haz.de reports.
One neighbour recalled seeing his yellow and white VW Camper van, which German police last month appealed for information on.
This week’s search comes days after searches were carried out on beaches where the prime suspect spent time in Portugal.
A ten-person team of police, firefighters, and divers searched a network of wells in The Algarve as part of the hunt for Madeleine's body in mid-July.
In June, detectives confirmed they had previously dug up 8,000 pieces of potential evidence which had been buried at an abandoned German box factory owned by Christian B.
It is alleged at least some of this disturbing material includes videos and pictures of his suspected crimes – with the files found on hard drives and USB sticks in a plastic bag.
The material was buried alongside his dead dog at the dilapidated and rubbish filed site in Neuwegers-leben.
But German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters would not confirm to Australian TV investigation show 60 Minutes whether any of the pictures and videos included evidence linked to the Madeleine case.

‘WANTED TO TURN CELLAR INTO FRITZL-STYLE CELL’
Madeleine McCann suspect Christian B had a second allotment and joked about building a “Fritzl cellar” to hide kidnapped children, it has been claimed.
Austrian Josef Fritzl was convicted of rape, enslavement and murder for locking up and raping his daughter in a cellar over 24 years, and causing the death by neglect of one of their seven children.
In 2009, the montster was sentenced to life in a psychiatric prison.
A friend has claimed that, while living in Germany in 2013, sex offender Christian B told him that he wanted to turn the cellar of his rented home into a “Fritzl cell”.
“He had a cellar and he said he wanted to line it with heavy plates, like the guy in Austria,” the pal added.
The owner of a second plot Christian B rented in Braunschweig, where he reportedly lived for a time, similarly described conversations in which he talked about constructing a cellar.
The woman said: “There was a hole in the floor inside the allotment house.
“One day he told me he wanted to put clear plastic over it. I said, ‘What the hell for? Just so you can look down into a dirty old cellar?’
“In retrospect I think he wanted to build a Fritzl cellar.”
Prosecutors have claimed that Christian B, who has a history of sex offences, also described such fantasies in online forums.

SECOND ALLOTMENT ‘LINKED TO CHRISTIAN B’
Bild in Germany reports that Christian B. leased a second garden plot, in Braunschweig.
The revelation comes after police wind up their three-day search of an allotment in Hanover allegedly used by Christian B around the time of Madeline McCann’s disappearance in 2007.
He is said to have rented a plot from the Kennelblick Allotment Garden Association.
Christian apparently used it from October 2013 until April 2016, until terminating the agreement at very short notice, says Bild.
Jürgen Krumstroh, chairman, told Bild that although cops haven’t searched the ex-member's garden – which has since been sublet – he expects they will visit the site.
He said he got to know Christian, and even “drank beer with him”.

COPS COULD SWOOP ON SECOND ALLOTMENT
German police could swoop on another allotment that used to be rented by Christian B.
The child sex fiend, 43, lived at the isolated garden house for three years after quitting the kiosk he ran.
The Sun uncovered what appears to be a boarded up well at the property this morning.
The new owner admitted: “I’m worried I’m sleeping over a dead body.”
Locals are now urging police to come and dig at the site after they uncovered a cellar at his other garden in Hanover last night, some 40 miles away.
The single storey building is at the end of a track close to a railway line in Braunschweig.

    'BEGGED POLICE'
The woman who uses a second plot linked to Christian B, Sabine Sellig, has urged police to come and search the site.
Her friend Thomas Tager told The Sun: “She is terrified.
“She has begged police to come with search dogs.
“She said to me ‘I’m worried I am sleeping on a dead body’.”
It's been reported by Bild that Christian B. leased a second garden plot, in Braunschweig.
He is said to have rented it from the Kennelblick Allotment Garden Association from October 2013 until April 2016.
The association's boss, Juergen Kruimstoh, told The Sun he remembered Christian B when he frequented the site.
He said Christian B paid just £50 a year to rent the entire allotment – and he “never had a cross word” with him.
Recalling he owned a Mercedes sprinter van and had two dogs, Mr Kruimstoh told The Sun: “His departure from here in 2016 was strange.
“He gave me notice in the afternoon, got into his packed, small car, and after that I never heard from him again.
“Naturally there is a good deal of speculation about whether the police want to dig here like they have been doing in Hanover.”

    MISSING FOR OVER A DECADE
On May 3, 2007, Madeleine McCann, three, vanished from her bedroom in the apartment her family were staying in at the Praia da Luz resort in Portugal while her parents, Kate and Gerry, ate with friends at a nearby restaurant.
The apartment was broken into while Madeleine and her twin baby siblings were asleep, and local police concluded it was a kidnapping.
The family voiced concern at what they called was a slow initial police response and a failure to secure the crime scene.
The early investigation by Portuguese police produced no major leads.
The following July, they controversially dropped their investigation because of a lack of evidence.
In 2013, the British police began their own investigation – Operation Grange – saying they had identified 38 potential suspects.
Later that year, they released an e-fit image of a number of men, including one of an unidentified suspect they particularly wanted to trace.
Soon after, Portuguese prosecutors ordered the case to be reopened by local police.
The new inquiry led Portuguese police to interview four suspects, but they were later cleared of any involvement, and a search by British detectives of wasteland near Praia da Luz also failed to provide a breakthrough.
In June 2020, British and German police said they had identified a new suspect in the case, a 43-year-old German man.
Prime suspect Christian B lived in the Algarve between 1995 and 2007 and burgled hotels and holiday flats as well as trading drugs.

    NEW PAROLE APPEAL
Madeleine McCann suspect Christian B has submitted another request for parole.
It’s been lodged days after he withdrew his last application for early freedom, claiming he had ''lost confidence'' in the judicial system.
The 43-year-old convicted rapist and paedophile's fresh bid comes as cops searched a secret cellar underneath an allotment he leased in Hanover – and could swoop on a second plot rented in Braunschweig.
Christian B was eligible for release in June after serving two-thirds of a 21-month sentence for drugs trafficking.
But his lawyer Friedrich Fulscher pulled that application saying he had no faith in the court as it was the same one that had convicted his client of rape.
Last night Fulscher, who has refused to speak with British media, told German news outlets he had resubmitted the request but at the court in Kiel where Christian B is currently jailed.

German forensic officers have ended a three-day search of a garden plot in the northern city of Hanover.
The dig is part of an investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in Portugal in 2007.
A hidden cellar was uncovered and searched in the foundations of a building that was knocked down 13 years ago.
German authorities said last month they had identified a 43-year-old German citizen as a suspect in the McCann case and are investigating him on suspicion of murder.
Authorities have not released the suspect’s name, but he has been widely identified by German media as Christian B.
He ran a kiosk in Braunschweig and also lived in Hanover for several years, dpa reported.
The allotment is an hour's drive from the town of Braunschweig, the last fixed home of Christian.
Diggers were brought on to the site, which had trees cleared to aid the search.
Up to 100 cops, along with sniffer dogs and specialist ground radar equipment, were seen at the plot.
Investigators – some of whom appeared visibly upset – were seen combing through the dirt with shovels and rakes.

Most serious were the alleged sightings in the hours and days following Madeleine's disappearance.

DISCOVERED CELLAR NOW FILLED WITH SAND
A hidden cellar that was discovered during a search for clues in relation to missing Madeleine McCann has been completely filled in with sand.
Updated site pics show the garden has been cleared of vegetation, and covered in sand.
The abandoned German allotment has this week been the scene of an intense search by about
100 cops and forensic experts, which started on Monday night and has now ended.
A picture taken on July 29 shows a sign on one tree reading “No entry to the property. Parents are liable for their children” after the police finished a three-day search in the northern German city of Hanover.

FORMER CABIN REMOVED FROM GARDEN PLOT
German police who searched a garden on the outskirts of Hannover, northern Germany, used excavators, sniffer dogs, shovels and rakes to investigate the plot.
Investigators put up two tents and continued to dig even further into the ground after they had cut down trees and bushes earlier this week, the German news agency dpa reported.
Prosecutors did not say what the investigators were looking for.
At the garden plot, investigators even removed parts of the foundation of a former cabin from the
ground that once stood there, dpa reported.
A man on a neighbouring plot told the news agency that the garden, where blackberry bushes and a cheery tree grow, had not been used for the last two years.
The site was previously home to a German suspect linked to Madeleine's disappearance.

LOCALS URGE COPS TO INVESTIGATE SECOND PLOT OF LAND IN HANOVER
Locals are urging police to come and investigate ANOTHER allotment on a plot that was also rented by Christian B.
The 43-year-old child sex fiend, who is the prime suspect in the search for Madeleine McCann, lived at the isolated garden house for three years after quitting the kiosk he ran.
Locals are now urging police to come and dig at the site after they uncovered a cellar at his other garden in Hanover last night, some 40 miles away.
The single storey building is at the end of a track close to a railway line in Braunschweig.
Christian B lived on site there between 2013 and 2016 and was often seen with girlfriend Nakscije Miftari.
He occupied the land at the same time when five-year-old Inga Gehricke, dubbed the ‘German Maddie’, vanished from a nearby forest during a family barbecue.
The site is rumoured to have a cellar beneath it – just like the one dramatically discovered in Hanover yesterday.
The Sun uncovered what appears to be a boarded up well at the property this morning.

German TV channel RTL reports that television teams and photographers from the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands “among others” flocked to Hanover to cover the search for clues in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
But, the station added, not much is known as yet about the three-day probe of an abandoned allotment.
The public prosecutor's office in Braunschweig has not updated reporters on what – if anything – has been found during the forensic investigation.

    MADDIE HUNT
Madeleine McCann cops may swoop on 2nd allotment owned by Christian B as neighbours say it’s hiding ANOTHER cellar

    Exclusive
By Ben Leo in Braunschweig, Germany Nick Pisa

POLICE in Germany could swoop on a second allotment plot rented by twisted Christian B after the new owner admitted: “I’m worried I’m sleeping over a dead body.”

The site is rumoured to have a cellar beneath it - just like the one dramatically discovered in Hanover yesterday.

The Sun uncovered what appears to be a boarded up well at the property this morning.

    'TERRIFIED'

The iconic blue property boasts a lush green garden full of flowers, plants and apple trees.

Neighbours said the woman who now owns the plot, Sabine Sellig, recently urged police to come and dig her land.

Her friend Thomas Tager told The Sun: “She is terrified.

“She has begged police to come with search dogs. She said to me ‘I’m worried I am sleeping on a dead body’.”

Juergen Kruimstoh, boss of the local gardening association, said he remembered Christian B from the years when he frequented the site.

He said Christian B paid just £50 a year to rent the entire allotment - and he “never had a cross word” with him.

Recalling he owned a Mercedes sprinter van and had two dogs, Mr Kruimstoh told The Sun: “I was shocked when I suddenly saw his picture while searching for Maddie in the spring.

“He gave me notice in the afternoon, got into his packed, small car, and after that I never heard from him again.

“Naturally there is a good deal of speculation about whether the police want to dig here like they have been doing in Hanover.”

A neighbour at the Braunschweig allotment also revealed that Breuckner got in trouble with the garden bosses for illegally digging a cellar in the bottom of the house.

Manfred Richter, 80, said: “He excavated and dug out the bottom of the floor of the house and took out all the stone three meters deep.

"He dug a big hole and three by six meters wide. He carried all the stones and rocks out to the front of the house and left a huge mound of it in the garden.

"He put planks of wood over the top of the hole. It took him nearly two months to do this.

"He worked first thing in the morning and stopped last thing at night."

    SECRET CELLAR

This week saw police officers and forensics teams use dogs, diggers, and underground radar equipment to search the Hanover plot.

Pictures showed two skips full of concrete blocks as well as a bucket and other objects being removed from the site.

Blue bags stuffed with items taken the site were also taken away - though cops refused to say what was in them.

Neighbours have described how Christian B spent time living in a hut at the site.

The structure was reportedly demolished shortly after he left the site in 2007 or 2008, with no outward sign remaining of a "cellar" contained in its concrete base.

Cops were tipped off about his use of the plot by another tenant who saw a German crime show about the case last month.

The public prosecutor did not comment on whether searches were planned in the Braunschweig allotment.

This guy was everywhere: selling cars, drugs, digging cellars, owning multiple homes, being seen in multiple places and owning not one but two allotments.

But should we be surprised? Maybe not. Maybe we should start to believe that he DID abduct Maddie! Just think about it, he appears to have super-human powers! Flew in through the window, flew out (a more plausible explanation than the one presented by Pillowman…), flew all the way to Hanover, dug up a cellar, was not satisfied and dug up another cellar, put Maddie there, flew back to Portugal all before the GNR arrived at the scene!!

Oh, if this second cellar doesn’t work, maybe just walk down the road and find a 3rd one?

Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner 'will never cooperate with police'

Friedrich Fulscher defended his client's silence over the allegations and said that "you could order holy water as a long drink in hell" before his client starts to cooperate with the prosecutor's office

    by Neil Murphy
    00:34, 3 Aug 2020Updated12:12, 3 Aug 2020

The lawyer for Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner says his client will 'never speak with investigators' as he has "nothing to hide".

Friedrich Fulscher defended his client's silence over the allegations and says it is his fundamental right.

"The prosecutors office has to prove that a suspect has committed a crime, and not the suspect prove that he hasn't," Mr Fulscher said.

"Before our client starts to cooperate with the prosecutor's office, you could order holy water as a long drink in hell."

German prosecutors believe Brueckner, 43, is the man responsible for the disappearance of Madeline McCann in 2007.

They say a phone belonging to the career criminal was allegedly used in the vicinity of the Portugal resort at the time of her disappearance.

But Fulscher - who was hired by Brueckner two months ago - says he is is yet to be presented with evidence of the phone call by detectives.

He also claimed that even if it was made by Brueckner it doesn't prove he is guilty.

"You can't say because of the fact that this cell phone was logged to this tower that he was standing near to the apartment of Madeleine McCann's disappearance," Mr Fulscher told

"He could have been 20 kilometres away."

He added: "The media has described my client as a monster, when we speak he is very calm and friendly."

Dozens of officers descended on an allotment Brueckner used to rent in Hanover on Tuesday where they conducted a major search.

But Fulscher claimed this was intended to "influence" public opinion.

The lawyer earlier said that the excavation of the home was “an act of pure desperation".

They excavated the site using sniffer dogs as well as penetrating radar and drones.

Brueckner is currently serving a prison sentence for drug offences in a German jail and is due out in January.

He has yet to face sentence for raping a 72-year-old woman in Portugal in 2005.

He has previously denied involvement in the McCann case.

Another McCann abduction sycophant bites the dust and as is usual with such characters, leaves his people to pick up the pieces of their financially shattered lives and walks away a multi-billionaire. Shameful man. I was warned by an old boss about his questionable empire building and the true value and substance of the man nearly twenty years ago, turns out he wasn't wrong.

Give it enough time and it all comes out in the wash eventually, as the old saying goes. I mean, how many times throughout the ongoing melodrama does Brunty have to show his unwavering allegiance to the cause?

“He entered the apartment via the patio doors and noticed almost immediately that the children’s bedroom door was further ajar than it had been.

“He glanced into our room to make sure Madeleine hadn’t wandered in there, as she was prone to do if ever she woke in the small hours.

Madeleine McCann suspect was extradited to Germany without proper permission, court says

    By Izzy Lyons
    6 August 2020 • 11:02 AM

The prime suspect in the Madeleine McCann case was extradited to Germany without proper permission, the European Court of Justice has said, raising the prospect that he could be released from prison within months.

Christian Brückner was named as the prime suspect in the disappearance of three-year-old Madeleine, which the German authorities are treating as a murder investigation, in June.

The 43-year-old, who is currently in prison for a drugs offence, faced a further nine years in prison after he was convicted in December of raping a 72-year-old American woman in Praia de Luiz in 2005 - two years before Madeleine went missing in the same Portuguese village.

But his legal team last month argued that the conviction should be quashed because he was extradited from Italy on a drugs charges - not for rape.

According to EU law, people extradited by a member state through an arrest warrant may not be prosecuted for a previous crime “other than that which is the basis of the surrender”.

Today an advocate general at the European Court advised that German authorities should have got permission from Italy to extradite him lawfully for the rape charge.

The decision, known as an “Opinion” in the Court, is not legally binding and is the penultimate step to a final judgment, which will be delivered by three more judges later this month.

The ruling today suggests that Bruckner’s rape conviction could be ruled unlawful, meaning he could be released in January 2021 when his drugs sentence expires.

At the hearing last month, lawyers on behalf of the German state argued that Bruckner’s legal argument was “devoid of sense”.

“The suspect made the most of open European borders and now he wants us to read the law in such a way it gets turned on its head to give him an advantage in court,” Felix Halabi told the court.

The court heard how Brückner left the country to travel to Italy via the Netherlands because he “wanted to go on holiday,” his lawyer, Friedrich Fülscher, said.

When he arrived in Italy, he was subject to a European arrest warrant for drugs offences from 2011 but, upon returning to Germany, he was put on trial for the rape. Mr Fulscher argued that this is “unconstitutional”.

Court sides against Madeleine suspect in rape appeal bid

UK News | Published: 1 hour ago

The ruling concerns a separate case affecting a 72-year-old woman.

A European court has sided against the suspect in Madeleine McCann’s disappearance in his bid to overturn a rape conviction.

German investigators believe Christian Brueckner, 43, killed Madeleine, then three, after abducting her from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in May 2007.

He is serving a prison sentence in Germany for drug trafficking and is appealing against a conviction for the 2005 rape of a 72-year-old American woman in the same Portuguese resort, for which he was sentenced to seven years in jail.

The case, at the European Court of Justice (ECJ) in Luxembourg, hinges on a legal point relating to his extradition to Germany from Portugal and later Italy.

According to court documents, Brueckner was extradited from Portugal for sexually abusing a minor in June 2017, then travelled to the Netherlands and Italy whilst still on probation after his release.

He was extradited to Germany from Italy in October 2018 on a warrant for drug trafficking before being tried and convicted of rape and extortion in December last year.

Brueckner’s legal challenge centres on whether the German authorities needed Portugal’s consent to bring rape proceedings because of the 2017 extradition.

Italy had agreed Brueckner could be tried for rape and extortion in Germany.

A preliminary opinion by Advocate General Michal Bobek, which is not binding, on Thursday said the consent of only the Italian authorities was needed for the Germans to carry out their proceedings legally.

It comes ahead of a final decision by ECJ judges at a later date.

German prosecutor Julia Meyer told the PA news agency: “The advocate general shares our opinion.

“We are pleased and wait for the decision of the court the next few weeks.”

Brueckner is serving his sentence for drug trafficking until early next year and will be in custody until 2027 if his appeal against the rape conviction fails.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters, who is leading the Madeleine investigation, has previously said investigators have “concrete evidence”, but not “forensic evidence” that he killed her.

Speaking about Brueckner’s appeal, he earlier told PA: “Ultimately, we cannot influence the decision because it is not related to the McCann investigation.

“This does not affect our investigations, but of course we would like to know where our suspect is.

“As long as he is in custody, we know this.”

Last week German police reportedly discovered the remains of a hidden cellar among foundations of a former cabin following a three-day search of a garden plot on the outskirts of Hanover.

The Metropolitan Police maintain their active investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance, Operation Grange, is a missing person inquiry as there is no “definitive evidence whether Madeleine is alive or dead”.

    4. Our reading of the situation at the moment:

Providing the 3 ECJ judges concur with Advocate General Bobek’s preliminary hearing opinions, Brueckner’s rape conviction will stand and he will serve the 7-year sentence.

In the meantime, he will remain in prison until January 2021, unless his renewed parole application (for his current drug conviction) to the court in Kiel is successful.

We have no idea how German law works but it seems to us that his appeal is unlikely to be successful, unless the 3 judges come to a different opinion before January 2021.

Meanwhile, Germany can continue to play whatever “Maddie game” they are playing with him as the centreboard pawn.

The witness is thought to have told detectives that Christian B, a German drifter, told him in a bar that he knew what had happened to Madeleine, who vanished from a Portuguese holiday apartment in 2007.

Mr Fulscher believes the informant may later, in return, have got early release from a sentence he was serving in a foreign country.

Mr Fulscher told Sky News: "If this is the same person, I think it's the worst witness you can get. A human who has spent his whole life cheating people for his own benefit is never a reliable witness."

Christian B, who cannot be fully identified under German privacy law, is the target of a German prosecutor who has said he believes he abducted and killed Madeleine, but he has not got enough evidence to charge him.

The prosecutor, Hans Christian Wolters, said this week he would not let the investigation drift on and would announce any decision to drop it.

Mr Fulscher said such a development would be too late to restore Christian B's reputation, as many people would always consider him responsible for Madeleine's disappearance.

He said: "If you pee in the same place long enough it will stink. And that's definitely what's happening in the Christian B case. He won't be able to lead a normal life at any point, without being recognised and facing hostility.

"A prosecutor who goes public (during an investigation) knows that. He can destroy a reputation and it was taken very lightly in this case."

Christian B, 43, has previous convictions for rape, child sex offences, theft and dishonesty - a variety of offences committed in Germany and Portugal as he flitted between the two countries.

Mr Fulscher said: "Of course, he is no 'innocent lamb', he has made many mistakes in his past which have been punished by the law - and that is completely right.

"It is a basic principle of our system that someone who has served his sentence can claim his right to be part of society again.

"I don't think he is someone who has done everything right in his life, but that doesn't mean that you can suddenly condemn him for things he hasn't done."

Christian B is in jail in Kiel, northern Germany, serving sentences for rape, which he is appealing, and drug trafficking.

His lawyer, speaking in his office almost two miles from the prison, said: "He is isolated 23 hours a day in a 7sqm cell. He is allowed out to exercise for one hour a day.

"That is because a prisoner accused of these kind of crimes, and who is known in the jail, is in danger of being attacked by other inmates.

"In the time since I am his lawyer, I have noticed that he has getting slimmer because of the lack of movement."

Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters said this week he was still looking for vital evidence against Christian B, but has not questioned his suspect.
